Interesting - Lordmarcovan would go nuts with this piece I bought. I wonder if U.S. gypies wear the

Looks like an old piece of Indian, Moroccan, or maybe Arabian jewelry. It is big enough to be an anklet, it's about 3 1/4" in diameter. It is chain link, with bakelite beads and India coins dangling from it. It looks like something a gypsy or a belly dancer would wear. I have not read the writing on the coins yet, it does looks like Hebrew or Egyptian, definitely middle eastern origin.

Wondered if these came made with holed U.S. coins????

That's interesting. Given the age of bakelite, more likely a tourist item from someone on the "Grand Tour" of the Middle East. I guess you could go through Krause or the ANR Eliasberg Sale coins, to figure out the writing on the coins. If you post some of them on World coins forum here, I bet someone knows the age, nationality.

Prolly Turkish or other Ottoman Empire coins.

There are a lot of replicas of Ottoman gold coins used in such jewelry pieces, too. I have one on the Holey Gold Hat. Pretty sure it's a fake, but I like it anyway.

Looks Bedouin to me and a few of the coins common Egyptian (AH1293 or thereabouts). WOuld be interested in what you end up with when it arrives.
