Winthrop Carner , what ever happened to him?

I bought some coins from Winthrop Carner off of eBay many years ago and he was on my list of favorite sellers. Always had nice ORIGINAL type material.

Anyone know what's happened to him? He has not listed anything in almost 14-18 months.

Last I saw him, he was working for Heritage (summer 2004), though I have not seen him in their literature for some time.

He was with Heritage (nearly two years ago) in the time frame prior to the 14-18 months you are speaking of.

I did not realize he had left Heritage. So now I am really confused.

At my age a period of 14-18mos. may be multiplied by a factor of 1.5x to 3.5x, in other words my timing may be off. image

Heritage is really scooping up all the guys I liked dealing with the other being Todd Imhoff.

He probably retired from all the exhorbitant shipping charges and profits from his coin sales. He had some nice stuff and got every drop out of it that the market would tolerate.

My understanding is that he's no longer active due to personal reasons.
