My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Actually, the whole think stinks!!!
"Hi Mike,
No problem with the 1909, I understand. I'm sorry to hear about the 1911, as it must have been a let down to receive such results.
I hope you and your family have a very happy new year.
Tom"
I dont think its going to be a very happy one.
Ditto.

<< <i>I just cant get a break, Came back in a body bag... Crap...
That really stinks, but, given the seller (Numiscent) it was predictable. What was it bagged for -- artificial color, altered surfaces, or both? Did you try to get a refund? You might succeed with a refund (as others have) as this seller wants to preserve his "reputation".
This seller is a real scumbag, but it seems like not enough of his customers have the coins graded to realize they have been screwed.
<< <i>Heres the email I sent cancelling the 1909 that I ordered from him and was waiting to pay for after this one got back

Yeah, like the seller did not know this was going to be the result.
And hey - why not state why it was body bagged ???????????????
that is the way i read it.
another disappointing raw purchase.. sorry to hear about this.
The color just looked too red to my eyes...Mike
<< <i>Lets just call it a 250.00 lesson on raw coins, shall we. I'm not going to whine anymore. Lesson learned. Everyone here has been extremely helpful, and I will rely on all your help in the future. Can anyone recommend a few good raw coin sellers. Does Mr. Coppercoins sell? how about you russ? >>
I was hoping you would go after the refund - I think seller likely would give in if you pushed it enough. However, at least you avoided losing again on the 1909. One thing you can do is take a close look at the 1911 and a PCGS 66RD or 67RD Lincoln -- I think the difference in the surfaces will become apparent.
I don't collect that much copper -- but I imagine it is tougher to find nice raw copper (especially on Ebay) than it is for silver and gold -- especially with the skilled copper coin doctors out there. One thing you might want to try is finding early MS Lincolns in the old Green PCI holders -- you usually can pick them up for "raw" prices, and they typically cross or even upgrade a point (but crack out the coin and submit raw).

By way of example, here is a 1909 with original surfaces (NGC graded it 66):
Here is a 1936 that PCGS graded 67:
Hope this helps...Mike
Not for nothing, but some of the best dealers & collectors here have had a number of their coins BB'd for AT on the first try, and then grade with no problem on a resubmit. While I can't comment on whether your coin is AT or not, it may be worth it to send it in again, or better yet, send it across the street or around the corner for a "different" opinion.

VamGuy, that coin came from a Lincoln Cent coin doctor who sells on Ebay, who has hosed at least two forum members, and probably countless others. As Stewart Blay put it, all this seller's Lincolns look like "pumpkins", in that they all have an orange-like hue.
Additional discussion was toward the end of This Thread, and also in this older thread, in which a forum member had 4 coins bodybag: Older Thread
