Got grade -- 1860-O dime

Several weeks ago I posted this thread where I said that I snagged an unattributed 1860-O dime. That claim was met with some (totally reasonable) skepticism.
I am very happy (very happy! very happy!) to report that I now have the coin back. First the coin itself:

...and the grade:

And, as the final icing: even though NGC has three higher, this is a 1/0 coin at PCGS -- my first ever top pop, and on a classic coin to boot!
PCGS: [58]/55/53/53/50
NGC: 67/64/64/55/53/50/50
Whee!

Well done.
If so you have to be kidding me???
I just read the original link. Now I can see how this got by most everyone. Congrats on your patience and looking where others don't.

What's the coin worth as an AU-58? PCGS Price Guide says $7,000 for an AU
YOU SUCK!
Seriously, good score!!!
Steve
I'm insanely jealous.

Holy Toledo!
Great find, and super score!!!
Congratulations!!!!
Regarding the question of worth, I imagine this is in the "whatever someone is willing to pay" category, even more than most. I'm glad I don't have to come up with values to list in a price guide. I don't know how you go about coming up with values for grades that have no known specimens, beyond a handwaving interpolation from auctions. In this case, there aren't even a whole lot of auctions sales to look at. This is what I found, for pieces in grades 50+:
$8,625 NGC 55 Heritage, 11/2003
$9,775 PCGS 53 ANR, 12/2004
$7,475 PCGS 50 Heritage, 5/2005
...and for completeness, not that they're terribly relevent for this case:
$64,900 NGC 67 Heritage, 9/1996
$50,600 NGC 67 Heritage, 8/1995
$39,000 NGC 64 David Lawrence, 3/2005
That all I could find. Not a whole lot out there. If anyone knows of additional sales, I'd certainly be interested to hear about them.

Thats one heck of score, hard to top that. Big cash score and a rare Gem coin to boot.

That got to be the #4 or #5 score on the board!! (Russ would know for sure)!
It only graded AU, I'd send it back. LOL
<< <i>The seller graded the coin "One dime: 1860 beautifull fast uncirculating"
It only graded AU, I'd send it back. LOL >>
Yeah, and the 1891 dime was also only AU. Darn seller!
(actually, I've seen the term "fast uncirculating", or variants, a few times. I have a feeling it doesn't really mean "uncirculated")
Oh, and I suppose I should mention somewhere in here that I got $400 back when I sold the rest of the coins in that lot.

If there's a tally, I'd love to see it. I've heard some real jaw-droppers, even just among the threads that I've read. Personally, I think the 1944 steel cent from last week beats this one for sure.

A big congrats!!

Ill bet several of the seated dime guys would like to own it, one becuase of the date, second the grade and mostly becuase of the way it was discovered?
Here's to those that advocate avoiding raw coins on eBay. And from a foreign country no less.
That New York City subway token is on H3LL of a score!
You suck!
