I still can't get a picture on here AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I followed someones directions and .... nothing. Now, when I press "attach files" a beige box comes up with the photo designations on it, but I've tried every button in varieties of ways and can't get the pic on the post. Anyone? HELPimage

  • Upload your picture, click the "View File" button, right-click>properties on the picture, copy the URL, return to your message, hit the little picture button, the one that looks like a mountain and the sun and blue sky in a picture frame, and paste the URL into the box on the prompt that comes up...

Highlight the image you want to see, hit "view file" in the lower left. That brings up your pic.

Right click on you pic. Go down to properties. that brings up props box.

Highlight the address. Make sure you get all of it. Sometimes it is bigger than the box and will scroll down as you highlight it. Right clock on your selection and copy it. Type as you see below and paste your address in between. This works for most people a few have not had success.

There are many ways to do it - here is one

upload file (50kB or smaller) to PCGS server and let them store it - then attach it

so start at the top - get the upload box when you hit 'attach file'
then hit 'browse' to find the file you want that is in your computer - click it so that it is in the box
once there - hit to the right 'upload file' - it will take a few seconds for the file to be copied from your computer

once done - it says on the right what PCGS calls it - usually it is the same as what you called it but occasionally, that file is already used by somebody so it gives you a new name like ACF_01.jpg

this new file will show up in file listing for Perro
then you click the file you want - until it turns blue and then hit lower right - attach file

it will show up in the attachments section below posting window

get that down before you try direct linking it

Has the "View File" function actually ever worked for anyone?
  • View works for me
  • That was my problem. When I pushed the view button, nothing happened. I still have failed, but i will try a few more of the suggestions here.

  • The view file, attach file etc buttons do not work for me, but the view file, attach file TEXT does work. Try clicking on the text not the button/symbol.

the bottom buttons work for me - but it is just like everything on this server - hit it once and wait - sometimes 20 seconds for the action to occur

    Thanks for the tips.

One thing that's always confused me is the file size. 50k on my computer becomes 25k when transferred to PCGS. For me, my 125k file shrinks to 48-50k at PCGS, so that is the size I now use. It ends up being a decent size, good looking picture, about 500X250 for my obverse/reverse pictures.

View file works fine for me on all the computers I use. You can also just attach it, click on the attachment once posted. Copy the address off of it and directly link it that way. You'll end up with an attachment and the pics on the post. I've seen a few do that.
