Just 6 hours before it's 2007 here, what are you goals for next year?

Hello everyone,

It's 6 PM here right now, so....I wish all you people the best for the upcoming year, and hopefully will it be a succesfull one in both "normal" lifeimage and coinsimage

So what are your coin collecting goals for 2007. Although I haven't bought much coins this year, the 2 in my sig line are actually the only good ones, but off course I'm still collecting them. I have to admit that I don't post here that often anylonger, and somehow I feel very sorry about thatimage

My main goal for this year is to finally add a pattern to my collection, and I hope that will be possible within a few monthsimage. Offcourse, I've said it before, but hopefully I'm now more serious then ever.... Well at least since that spring of 2004, when patterns caught my eye, and they have remained my favourite part of US numsmatics to study ever since.

And offcourse, there are all other goals in live. I started a accountancy study this Septermber, and my goal is to completely finish the year before July. Not sure if that's possible, as it's the most difficult economics study there is, but I'm working very hard to make it, as it's my dream to get some work in the US and live there.

For you people who like to read my articles, there will be another (long) article published in the following few months. I've been working on that one for more then a year, and I hope all my hard work over the last year will be worth itimage

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I have the same goals for 2007 that I had in 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, and 2002. To nail a 1965 SMS Kennedy in DCAM. That's the goal, the fantasy is also the same - to nail an Accented Hair in PR69DCAM.

and maybe half a dozen upgrades of coins I'm not crazy about

  • Try to trade more coins to keep my collection "new" to me...and hopefully spend less money out of pocket than I did in 2006!

    So, how did we do?

    I'll start.

Simplify my life, narrow my collection, and resist the never-ending temptations to do just the opposite.

Progress made, but not completely. I am once again a one man enterprise, and my collection has halved in size (but not value).

I don't do new years resolutions, I find that there is so much wrong with me that I can find crap to work on every day of the year.

I have done a lot of personal, physical and spiritual rebuilding during the year. Lots of hiking, cycling, becoming one with nature and photography.

If there's one thing I enjoy more than coin collecting, it's nature photography. I never seem to have the ebbs and flows with photography.

Well...I sold several certified coins and my entire raw Buffalo partially completed set....and when it is all said and done...I did spend less out of pocket....but I became a whole lot more picky and my "new to me" collection is super small at the moment!

Upgraded two semi key dates on those Mercury Dimes, so I made the changes. Now, my set of Mercury Dimes are MS63 or higher with the only exception being the 1916-D which is AU50 and I am happy with that.

    1926-S upgraded from MS61 to MS63FB
    1927-D upgraded from MS61FB to MS65
    1944 upgraded from MS65FB to MS66FB

Next year? I don't know if I have any plans...

I did not make it to a major coin show.

I was lucky enough to make it to 5 small shows; one of those was on the opposite coast.

I brought two of my YNs to a show and that was a fun experience I didn't even anticipate last year at this time.
