I know zip about Morgans, but I do know that I don't like the color of that one...if the coffee color is the way it looks in hand.

  • I think life is short, dogs are loyal to their owners, auctions are fun, this forum is wacky, and that is a pretty coin if you like Morgans.......

I took this scan using my scanner. I since leaned that scanners are not the best way to show pictures. I will repost once I take pictures using my camera.

Also I am not keeping up on the NT vs AT differences, but I do know that this coins sat for over 50 years in a bag with about 500 other Morgan dollars. What do you think? The reason why I want to know is, I want to know if PCGS will grade it or BB it.

This proves what Mark Feld the coin guy is always saying about grading a coin from a picture....
Doesn't look circ but the big hit over Lib's eye and on her cheek look bad enough for staple scratches as does the one on the eagle so I'll say 62 even though I probably missed it by several thousand $$. image
    Good year too.

    AU50.

BTW, I just got one of this date from an eBay win in the mail today. Would have been a fantastic coin, PL even, but someone along the way cleaned it. Not enough of these PLs to go around too. Oh well.

Light wear, weak strike typical of O mintmarks... Can't tell lustre from a scan.. Mid AU?

Whew...everybody saying AU scared me. But since you <<<do know that this coins sat for over 50 years in a bag with about 500 other Morgan dollars>>> then I feel a little bit more better. But since there are 1000 Morgs in a bag the bag has obviously been opened and smoebody coulda threw anything in there over the years......

I don't really care what it ends up grading, I just want it in a nice holder, with some high resolution pictures.

So my last question is this.

    Will Pcgs grade this?

From your picts I don't see any reason it wouldn't slab. Course with better picts that might change. Send it in, if it only makes EX or AU no big deal but if it is indeed MS it's worth a couple of $$.
