The Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention News Release For Immediate Distribution
The Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention is very proud to announce that in less than one year it has increased the size of the convention by about 50%, and is now very close to filling all of new the bourse table space in the expansion area of Hall C. The November 10-12, 2006 Baltimore Convention will be the largest to date, and a complete sell out of all available table space is expected. Dealers who are interested in bourse table space should call Ed Kuszmar at 561-392-8551 or Gordon Wells Berg at 301-424-1876.
The November Baltimore 10-12, 2006 Baltimore Convention will be held in Halls A B and C of the Baltimore Convention Center, which is located at One West Pratt Street, in the Inner Harbor area of downtown Baltimore. The main entrance to the Convention will be at Pratt and Charles Street entrance.
A very special exhibit of Liberty Seated Coinage, including the only complete mint state set of Seated Half Dollars ever assembled, will be a featured exhibit during the weekend. This extraordinary exhibit will include Gerry Fortin’s Seated Dime set, currently #1 on the PCGS Registry; Len Augsburger’s Seated Quarter set, currently #1 on the PCGS Registry; and Dick Osburn’s Seated Half set, currently #2 on the NGC Registry. This exceptional exhibit will be located at Table 1755, located in Hall C.
The November Baltimore Convention will include another excellent Bowers and Merena Rare Coin and Currency Auction, and Presidential Coin and Antique will hold a special auction of the Sara Hinckley Collection of Hard Time Tokens. There is always Free Admission for the public to attend the Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention, and the public is invited to attend any of the meetings and lectures featured in the Saturday Educational Forum, including the Liberty Seated Coin Club (9 a.m.), the Maryland Token and Medal Society (11 a.m.), and the Early American Coppers Club (1 p.m.). Other meetings and lecture to be announced. The management of the Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention requests that other groups or individuals that are interested in meeting or exhibit space please contact Ed Kuszmar at 561-392-8551 as soon as possible. There will also be representatives available from the Baltimore Coin Club, the American Numismatic Association, the Maryland State Numismatic Association, and other collecting organizations.
There will an extensive Young Numismatist program, hosted by Patti and Rollie Finner, during the weekend, and each youngster 12 or under gets a daily dip into the Kid’s Bucket for a Free Hand Full of Money. Generous dealers and collectors help keep the Kid’s Bucket filled up all weekend, with some great donations of “numismatic goodies”, and show attendees are urged to bring along some material for the kids. Willy Massie, and his Coin Rolling Machine, will also be on hand and give the youngsters the opportunity to “roll” their own coins. Every youngster who attends will come home with lot of goodies.
National Grading and Certification Services will be available at the Baltimore Convention, including A.N.A.C.S., P.C.G.S., N.G.C., I.C.G., and P.C.I. Several of these firms will be doing on-site grading.
The United States Postal Service will maintain a mini post office, and will be available to sell postage, and many of their other products, and to accept Registered or Insured mail. The U. S. P. S. will also be happy to hand-cancel the Convention’s special Souvenir Card on the First Day of Issue, for the cost of a $.39 stamp. Convention Souvenir Cards will be available for $4.00 each at the Convention Office.
Thursday’s at the Baltimore Convention are for dealer set-up and dealer “Super Bourse”. Non-tabled dealers gain entrance to the Super Bourse for a $100.00 registration fee, $25.00 of which goes directly to Children’s Hospital (around $225,000.00 raised to date). Two company checks, a business card, and the dealer’s home state sales tax number are required for entry to the dealer’s only Super Bourse.
