Baseball Stars wearing glasses

Another exciting Friday night in Chicago finds me watching the Royals vs. A's for some reason and Eric Sogard just hits a double. As he pulls into second I notice his 1985 vintage poindexter glasses. That's not a rip. It's his stylistic choice and I dig it. And I realize you don't see too many guys with the classic rims on the field any more. For that matter you don't see the Chris Sabo/James Worthy specs either. For that matter, not too many hitters of note in my lifetime either. Off the top of my head I got Jeff Burroughs and Frank Howard (Senators) as the bespactled dudes who could hit. Jim Tracy is the only other one who comes to mind. Pitchers are more plentiful with McClain, Gagne, Duren, Clippard...

Sportscards depict players....bespectacled or otherwise. Who am I missing?

    I was always a fan of this guy. Just not for his glasses but his side arm delivery.

    Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.

    The Bowling Great Paul Weber. He wears sunglasses to reduce glare, I only know this because my idiot of a friend does the same thing!

    During the 70's and 80's, no one on the diamond rocked the coke bottles better than Darrell Porter.

    It's a shame that the glasses weren't the only coke and bottle that he rocked. A real tough guy behind the plate, he had some very good years in baseball. It's a shame he was an addict and died at such a young age (50).

    emar ... thanks for the LINK ... was fun to watch. As a kid Lowell Palmer is the guy I remember with the dark shades on his '70 card.

    I'm surprised Baseball Card Theater doesn't get more clicks, considering the current card collecting market.
    T.Sean's short films are pretty creative and funny commentary.
