I was going to scan some of my 80's racks but after that '69 pack, my stuff looks like commons.

1977 GAI 9 I've had for a while. I have been tempted to bust his for a year or so, I always chicken out. The centering on the Bradshaw looks good.

Bet Clemente is rolling over in his grave having to be next to "braodcaster" Joe Morgan. Being next to HOF Joe Morgan is cool though.

Two quick comments for Jmoran and CDsnuts: With the proliferation of resealed wax and bogus cellos flooding ebay it is a real pleasure to view Jmoran's Clemente, Morgan rak. To see such a rare and LEGITIMATE rak such as this reinforces my desire to stay in the unopened pak part of this great hobby of ours. Truly a "fantasy" rak for me--I can only dream of owning such a treasure!!

And thanks to CDsnuts for always finding a creative way to interject some humor into these boards. Many people, including myself at times, take card collecting too seriously and its always nice once in a while to take a step back and have a good chuckle--and CDsnuts seems to have a knack for supplying a laugh here and there...

not scanned- 1989 Fleer rack with FF and Biggio on top.

This cello cost me $400. When I mention the version I cant mention (not a saw cut) as it's easily faked, this is it.

Too bad that 89 Fleer rack didn't have the Ripken in Sheffield's spot. That would have won the award for the greatest modern unopened pack. Still pretty cool with two future HOF'ers on top and the third being a would have been HOF'er if not for roids and a bad attitude.

That rack with Sheffield, Griffey, and RJ on top would've had me moaning in the shop if I'd seen it in 1989/1990.

Living in Seattle at the time, watching Griffey hammer the ball and make those flying leaps... and then we got Johnson... man, Seattle fans were stoked at the time, even if it took him a couple years and some quality time with Nolan Ryan to get his mechanics down.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

No joke. I loved '89 Fleer when they came out. I'd have paid big bucks for that back in the day.

Yeah I'm happy to own that rack. I thought it was for a good price as well. $35. It turns out it has a rip in the header from the peghole up. Oh well. It's off to get slabbed so I can look at it and feel at ease.

Here's a few others. Wish I still had them all.

the '69 Super Cello is extremely rare--only 3 known

same as the Yaz rack...only 2 exist that I am aware of. Both came form Rosen's find in the mid-'90s.

Except that even if the vintage racks/cellos had commons on top, it would beat the 80s crap with stars on top.
