I was talking via pm with one of the board members about the 1988 Burger King cards. He got me thinking so I checked my psa version.....

Im sure they will make good on slabbing a counterfiet but it still sucks to say the least.

They would buy it back most likely offering vouchers to make up for it. Im out of gem 10 quality raw cards right now, so vouchers wont help me .

I think Ill just ask for a check.

Missing trademarks can be a variation Matt.

I know nothing about this card - I just read a poorly written blog that says the missing trademark is the rarer of two counterfeit versions.

If so....

Then...

I did it again...

Here's another PSA 10 sale sans the trademark.

Very poor scan.

I'm sure they'll make good if they can't back this card up.

What would they pay? What you claim to have paid for it? What you claimed on your sub sheet? SMR value? Other?

Are you telling me that PSA graded a counterfeit? Cant be, they would never miss something that obvious, they've got the best graders in the industry.

I dont know. I know I paid $140.00 for it back then. I guess they would have to go on my word.

I also found Bobdylan selling these.

He sold one and this one didn't sell - the other went for 58 bucks - down the drain I guess.

I can't believe that PSA was on top of this?

matt, when I joined this site and we had spoken I brought this up as I had purchased one over a year ago in a psa slab and it was bad as well. hopefully they make right on it with you.

Its missing all 3 "R's" . They should be next to the Burger King symbol, Gators name and UF symbol.....wow. Talk about missing something

I just checked my 1992 Counterfeit Detector book and it doesn't list the card - so it probably wasn't printed yet?

I wonder if it's in one of the later editions?

PSA messed up on this one.

nice looking counterfeit. That is such an obscure card, I'd have to give PSA a pass on this one. They should make it right, but I can understand this mistake.

Notice the small scans and the sellers feedback. He knows its fake, thus the tiny scans. If you look close enough there is no "R" next to the Burger King logo.

Also notice who won the auction

If memory serves, there were known counterfeits where the Burger King logo was completely missing. I was not aware of this variation though. It would not surprise me if it were a newer one than the original. Is the color off from the original too or is that just the scan?

Sure - I'ld want both examples of the counterfeit.

But, for a few bucks a piece - not 150$!

I just emailed the other two guys that bought the raw and psa 10 fakes on ebay. I told them that they bought counnterfeits and need to send them back, also open up a paypal dispute.

I emailed Joe a link to this thread to see what he wants me to do and how this will be handled. I'll keep everyone informed.
