Candyland appears each time you smile
Never thought that fairy tales came true
But they come true when I'm near you

    You're a genie in disguise
Full of wonder and surprise and...

    CHORUS:
Betcha by golly wow (wow) (wow)
You're the one that I've been waiting for... forever
And ever will my love for you keep growing strong
    Keep growing strong

If I could, I'd catch a falling star
To shine on you so I know where you are
Paint a rainbow in your favorite shade
To show I love you, thinking of you

Write your name across the sky
Anything you ask, I'll try cuz...

    REPEAT CHORUS

    Betcha by golly!
You're the one, yes you are! (Don't you let 'em tell you otherwise)
And ever will my love for you keep growing strong!

    But every just so often
The words of another who's truly in love seem to work out fine

To say I love you (I love you)
To say I'm thinking of you!

    REPEAT CHORUS

You're the one I'm thinking of, thinkin' of
    Ever will my...
And ever will my love for you keep growing strong
    Keep growing strong

    I love you, baby

Gotta go with AT on that one.

Looks AT to me. Blotchy blue, magenta, and burnt orange don't sit well with me.

A circ coin that old will always indicate at least a dip, with this toning acceptable; and if not harshly cleaned, gradeable by the TPG's.

But Genuine would not surprise me.

    .........it looks pretty odd

....so no idea about the real answer - but I would vote A.T

    I vote AT.

That coloration reminds me of cleaned and retoned proofs from 50 year later.

Not sure if I can say with any conviction AT or NT, but it does appear to be secondary toning at best.

    Can you add a poll?

Looks like it may have been cleaned and then retoned later. Not sure if the retoning was AT/NT, as secondary (natural) toning looks kinda like this.

The toning is a bit atypical, but I think it's NT.

Looks AT to me judging by what we can see.

What did the "sniffer" say or are they using it yet?

Wait till later to reply so as not to ruin the thread OR
send a PM and I promise not to disclose the answer till you do.

The coin has been in one place for a very very long time. Perhaps underground.

Coins like that are what make this hobby so darn scary! Rim toning with the appropriate colorization is awsome and beautiful, but toning like that although not impossible, has some major questions about it. JMHO. I actually like it either way.

Does toning hide hairlines or other problems? If not, and you LIKE it, why not purchase it a cost you deem fair?

I still think this NT/AT debate is way blown out of proportion...given that no one really has a good definition of "AT". It just comes down to whether you like the coin.

Hmmm....AU meat but surfaces are somewhat suggestive of environmental damage or maybe just heavy crust. I lean toward NT especially if this coin spent some serious years in the humid south. If she's got more luster than the images suggest than I am liking her.

That said, I would not in the least be surprised if our hosts gennied her.

I don't think it has been messed with to get that toning. I do think it might have been stored in a kraft envelope or something similar. IMO that is NT. Don't know why I think this but to me it does make a difference if it occurs over time like album or envelope toning rather than occurring quickly by having a substance applied to it.

That pic may not completely capture the colors on that coin accurately, as many times I've seen darkly toned pieces lightened up somewhat on those True View pics. So based on that the coin could go either way IMO.

Having a coin grade by a major TPG doesn't answer the question whether it is NT or AT!

Your right but they have had it in hand and can say better than any of us. I thought it was NT and still do

    Another thought on this topic...

Coin pics give a very limited impression of the coin from a single angle, at a single point in time. Some coins of this type appear wildly colored from every angle and look like a Crayola job. On the other hand, some are mostly dark, and/or bland, but the wild toning jumps out just at the right viewing angle.

Having laid down this foundation, I think it all depends. If this coin is in the all angle crayola category, then I would lean more toward AT; if however, it is in the single angle category, then I would think NT all the way.
