Good, spare design. Some of the state quarters got very junky for the small space allowed. This one looks rather elegant.

I never picked up on the raised border and incuse inscriptions before. Let's see a picture of the other side! I'm curious about the new washington portrait.

That's because of the lighting from below. It plays tricks on your eyes.

Aah, yes. It is lit from above, otherwise the inset fields would be raised. Still, lighting from below has the same effect on a coin photo, making all raised details look incuse.

The incuse letters and the fat boarder are nice looking. These may end up looking better in real life than in the flat drawings we have been seeing!
