Its nice to get good news once in a while. 1. 1878 8TF S$1 VAM-14.13 MS 62PL POP (1/0) Grade is right where I figured it. 2. 1878 7/8TF TOP-100 S$1 VAM-32 7/3TF MS 64 POP (1/0) in MS 64 although there are 3 64 DPLs. This coin should have been PL but hey, I'll take it. I figured the coin would probably 63PL. The Vam-14.13… -

Just a few other quick observations about the Mark and 1/2 Mark series: Grading these can be challenging as die polish can resemble hairlines. It is best to use higher magnification with grading these to have greater certainty that one is distinguishing the differences. Die polish lines will be raised. Quality can vary… -
