I picked up a PCGS MS69 Bullion Eagle from TT recently. I was very surprised; about one quarter (lower right) is covered by a large milk spot. This spot was barely noticeable on the listing. I will send this back eventually. -

Yes, but it can't be graded a 70 with a small milk spot and the TPG's won't guarantee the grade if it spots after slabbing. Sort of a pet peeve of mine. If it's "natural toning" (isn't it?), it shouldn't be completely disqualifying in my mind. [Yes, I'm alone on this.] -

here is how to protect against any and all toning, carbon spots, milk spots................entomb them in clear glass (colored glass if you want the illusion of toning) of course it must be safety glass in case you drop them. -

I don't see anything that will body-bag this. I've seen worse in PCGS MS64 holders. It looks like a few small denticle bites. The milk-spotting is normal for 1921s as you know and the dark spot on the reverse could be called "toning". -

Thanks for the pointers. I'll start with the acetone and report back on my progress. How long should I soak them? They don't have green spots yet but a few have milk spots and there is also "goo" all over a few of them.
