I don't quite get how PayPal justifies taking care of the other victims by creating a new one. They can just seize money from someone who was paid by a scammer, without proving they are connected in some way? Do they claim you're in cahoots with the scammer? I'm missing something here. -

eBay was a great stock pick in 1998. In 2003, I don't think so. I think the scammer problem is much worse than most people believe and will have an effect on their sales in the near future. You can only hide behind "we are only a venue" for so long. I just got taken by a scammer and I am NOT happy. -

The scammers are getting more sophisticated all the time. I received an "eBay" e-mail this morning, including all of their logos, that was addressed to me by name but was an obvious scam. If the e-mail requests any info such as eBay ID, Password, Credit Card #, etc. it will be a scam. eBay clearly needs to spend some… -

Storm This was the "top" piece of the story that I am going on - if she was setting someone up - she would not have given such a good pic? A lot of the scammers that people post here come up with a "fuzzy" pic/scan as part of the act. If she is a scammer - I agree - she learned a lesson. mike -

Be careful of the scammer that periodically messages those wanting to buy an item, letting them know his “friend” has EXACTLY what you want, and giving you his supposed friends email address. Then that “friend” let’s you know to only make payment with PayPal Friends&Family, which as you know strips you of their protection…
