The Mint would have bought that silver when it was high. They need to make a profit when they sell it, otherwise they're just wasting their time and the government's money. Nobody in the business of buying and selling silver - including the Mint - is in a rush to lower prices after a price drop, for that exact same reason. -

If the backorder is a 4 month wait, then they are not available to buy. That becomes a preorder situation, which is what the mint should do with all their products anyway. That would eliminate the mad rush on release day, waiting room woes, and provide ample time to weed out and cancel bot orders. -

“Red blob” on a gold coin is not from PVC. The usual red (and sometimes darker) spots on gold can not be safely removed. Edited to add: I routinely removed PVC from gold coins with no harm whatsoever, using acetone. Also, gold coins with ambient rust stains can be slathered with Rustoleum overnight to good effect. Specifically the 1951 Joe Dimaggio. For my search criteria I'm using 1951 Berk Ross Joe Dimaggio. The results are 1952 Berk Ross sets amoung others. What am I doing wrong? -
