Strange spot on a Morgan Dollar. Explanation?

Hello, I have a question about a Morgan Dollar with a strange spot. It is slabbed by PCGS but this spot annoys me. What exactly is the cause of it? I haven't seen anything like it on other Morgans. It sort of looks like a milk spot that you would see on a Silver Eagle. Sorry if the photo quality isn't the best I took these… -
Re: Question regarding PCGS grade review...
<< <i>Submit under "other"and put in SPOT REVIEW. You do not need to pay for anything except the return postage. If they pay you, then you don't have to pay that either. >> I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question... but here it goes... for a "SPOT REVIEW" does this only work for milk spots? The coin I'd be sending… -
Re: Q: If I bust a slabbed ASE outta
They probably have come back from spot review with milk spots at PCGS, and PCGS downgraded the coins and made the owner whole. I am assuming this as I was too lazy and in the middle of making homemade pizzas to go look up the BST page. PCGS has offered 50K for a cure for it, and no takers as far as I am aware, so yes, if… -
Re: PVC in slab - How to proceed? *** Photos up ***
I've sent several in for spot review with spots, milk spots, haze, etc. EVERY single coin came back. I called PCGS and they said Mr. Hall deemed the coin haze, etc as not detremental to the grade. BUT, when I submitted the same EXACT coin with said haze/spots, they came back in a lower grade. How can you figure it out?… -
Re: Palladium spotting or discloration
Welcome to the forums @Vpd! Spotting on gold is usually an issue with improper mixture of gold/copper and copper is causing the spots. ASE or silver in general has had and continues to have milk spots. If someone can figure the cause then we could have a fix. I do not know about Pd spotting but am sure fellow board members… -

Re: Ebates is back for EBAY up to 3 %
<< <i>Back in 2008, Bing offered some astonishing rebates. I received 20% back on many Spouse coins which was below spot value but I believe there was a time when the rebate was even higher. >> Got up to over 30%-35%, if I recall correctly. I abused the snot out of it. This forum really milked that promo for as much as it… -
Re: Look at what I found on this 2008-P Lincoin Cent
Good eye on spotting that cud in Abe`s hair. Not sure why Lincolns come with those horrible black water spots these days. And like those pesky milk spots on silver proofs, you cant get rid of them without destroying the coin. So until its numismatically exceptable to sandblast away surface imperfections, we`ll have to just… -
Re: American Silver Eagle Navy Privy, onsale Oct 10 Marine Privy Nov. 10
I agree with you 100 %. I only buy mint direct in OGP. I would never pay $199 let alone $699, however for those FOMOs who have to have it $699 is better than the $900 to $1,200 others are charging. By the way I purchased several dozen slabbed 70 ASEs and Commems. In 2010 and 2013 for the grand kids. Kept them in heavy duty…
