Re: Fake Joe Jackson story busted
"I just believe there's a special place in hell for guys like this. They can count themselves lucky that ebay is not a high priority with the FBI or any other federal agency that would nail his ass to the wall!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That is not too unlike… -
Re: What to do when Postal Clerks are intent on announcing the value of a package?
<< <i><<< << seatedcollector asks: <<< i would worry more about your preference to self insure, how does that work anyway ? >>> Good question, being that eBay says you can't do that unless it's a licensed 3rd party insurance company. It's virtually impossible, not to mention impractical to get 3rd party insurance on coins… -
Re: Regarding that "jar" where you toss all your loose change at the end of the day...

<< <i>I went through that jar the other day and found 12 wheaties from 1934 to 1957 and 1 1905 Indian penny plus a 64D silver dime Steve >> Sounds like it is taking you a REALLY long time to fill your jar As for my jar(s)....nope, still fill them about the same. I prefer cash for small purchases. I know people who use… -
Re: Topps Living Set

I have a good one. I mentioned a long time ago, I sent them cards 1-4. The CSR Andy is no longer with them and the new guy Kory had no idea what I was talking about. I complained thru their email and got the standard - "we're out" routine. I then kicked it up a notch "and" gave a full copy of all my purchases to include… -
Re: SCAM alert fabular3029 - eBay -Several big coins!!
Does anybody know anyone who has ever gotten burned on one of these? I know people who have gotten burned on motorcycle scams (people selling motorcycles they don't own) and similar car scams. But I've never heard of someone getting burned on a high quality coin sold by a scammer with stolen photos. I've sometimes… -
Re: 2008 W Proof Platinum 4 coin sets selling at $2,150? UPDATE: More negs on eBay.
<< <i>I can't keep replying to this thread because it is making me sick to my stomach thinking how people think I am scamming anyone. >> With no information from you (not your fault) some postings went a bit over the top. Now that you have replied, no one in their right mind can think of you as a scammer. You need to speak… -
Re: ebay & bad coins
It's most likely not the coins you are addicted to, it's probably the thrill of winning an auction on Ebay. The luster of winning on ebay will wear off, especially after you got taken to the cleaners once or twice by a scammer. Try hitting a few local coin shops or shows if you have any. When I was in the military and… -
Re: Anyone ever see this slab before??

all I know is that the Paramount company slabbed many silver dollars from the Redfield hoard before I think the 3rd party graders started up in the mid 80s. The dozen or so I've seen all state Gem MS65 on them eventhough they are really MS63 and 64s coins inside. One knowledgable dealer told me once that the Green label… -
Re: This Guy MUST be the undisputed King when it comes to prices on raw coins! Check this out!

<< <i>Interesting... Joined Ebay in March. Didn't sell anything until Sept. Sells a bunch of <$1.00 coins. Now lists lots of raw "gems." The only thing that doesn't shout scam is he takes Paypal. However, I predict... He will have his first neg in about 10 days and then they'll be rolling in when the second round of… -
Re: That ORR rookie was tampered with!
Brian, sorry to hear about your situation and I hope you can recover your loss. The holder definitely looks tampered with and I agree with you here that it looks like only the flip has been switched. I know it would be a lot easier if the scammer wanted to remove/switch the card that he/she would have started on the bottom…
