Re: Rick Snow?
I agree, more or less. But I just wonder what our response would be if the other party had posted here. There is a tendency to rally to the tribe. When someone posts that they didn't get a coin they received, we scream "scammer" and side with the buyer. When someone posts that their buyer is complaining that they didn't… -
Re: Shipping to japan

Having lived several years in Japan, I can say that in general, the Japanese are scrupulously honest people. Of course, there are scammers everywhere, so you do need to be careful. I can also say that Japanese Customs levies a large tax on gold, so that may be what he wants to avoid. Can you tell if the name is Japanese… -
Re: 2009 Bowman Red 1/1 Unnumbered Backdoored
<< <i>That sucks. Have you seen any football or only baseball? >> Just learned.....2009 Bowman Sterling Football Red 1/1 were given to distributors as full sheets. Without sticker or Jersey. Cut up and many were sold on ebay around Jan/2010 Another collector recalled seeing the same with the 2008 cards. So they gave… -
Re: Ebay $50 Gift Card for $45
<< <i>"One difference I noticed with this offer is that the gift cards are mailed not e-delivered." I've become paranoid over gift cards through the mail. I've never had one go missing but if one does I'm pretty sure you are just SOL. >> If it is an ebay purchase, you are not out of luck. In fact, most of my claims are… -
Re: Am I going to take the loss?
<< <i>Seller had feedback removed successfully. The seller went on her merry way as if nothing happened despite neglecting the post-sale service that most retailers would provide. >> Honestly I can't understand why anyone would consider this the sellers problem. With the number of scammers on ebay you have to be able to… -
Re: Anybody in Central California Have Interest in 1943-S Copper?
How are you going to buy it if it turns out to be real? What will be the price? How will you even make an offer unless it is sent in for authentication? The only way I could remotely see this happening would be for you both going to a show together, with a written contract in place to purchase it, pending the outcome of… -
Re: Coin shop problem I had today
<< I sent an email to Monarch, earlier today, making them aware of this thread. They just replied, said they had posted a response on their blog and asked if I would link it here. So, here it is: Response from Monarch ------------------------- Mark Feld >> OMG! What a sob story to escape responsibility & accountabality… -
Re: dc
Obviously if you don't send a package with delivery confirmation (or some sort of tracking) you leave yourself open to scammers. I treat it as a mathematical formula. In my experience about 1 in 18 packages sent without delivery confirmation end up being reported as undelivered by the buyer; whether they received the… -
Re: I am all in for the big purge!!!!
I have found buying what one likes is the best way to collect. In buying diretly from the mint when I see something I like it saves me the trouble of worrying about scammers and insane mark ups. Whether someone else likes my choices really doesn't matter, it's my collection. I have also read enough posts about what people… -
Re: klondike95 sold me this coin: 1874 Proof PR Arrows Seated Liberty Dime I suspected it was not proof
Just to take the other side, I'm assuming it's been a couple of months now, how does the seller even know you sent the same coin you received. Their are just as many bad buyers as sellers on the 'bay you know. He doesn't know you from Adam so has no way to know you are an honest person. I can promise that if someone I did…
