Re: This is the first counterfeit slab with CAC sticker I have seen
this was my first thought. now is expressed a weakness in the sticker game. how do you tie any green bean to any coin when the slabs may be "professionally" opened and then resealed? i won't comment further to not give any scammers reading and good tips. i'm sure the big wigs have discussed many scenarios like this. are we… -
Re: Craigslist - Has anyone found anything worth keeping?
Be VERY careful on CL, like others have said, it is FULL of scams since there is no charge for ads. If you place an ad, you WILL be contacted by a scammer. If you respond to an ad, 2 to 1 it is also a scams. The biggest is someone trying to sell you something using some third party money escrow service like ebay. ALL of… -

Re: Need help on Mantle RC...does this look real/what to look for??
<< <i>I zoomed in on the section of the slab on both front and back pics. The PSA symbol is missing. I stand by my opinion on the slab being a fake. >> The scan sux too bad for me to make that call for certain. I can sort of see someting in the corners. The flip doesn't jump out to me as being one of the Craigslist fakes.… -
Re: OK, so the stock market is tanking....
A real coin collector is a stingy tightwad and isn’t losing his arse in the stock market. He has his money buried in his backyard and stuffed in his mattress. There’s nothing good on eBay cause eBay is a joke. I just sold a small pile of CC Morgs to a board dealer. By the time eBay, PayPal, and the Post Office took their… -

Re: i got scammed for $4800...
<< <i>Perhaps one of the many lawyers here could make a generic comment. It the length of time an issue? I have no idea, and is this governed by state or federal statues? No clue here >> The length of time certainly could be an issue. Do you and the scammer live in the same state/jurisdiction? If so, where? There is an… -
Re: What steps should ebay take?
One thing ebay/paypal should do is make sure that the scammers who get caught get better publicity. The PR department should be sending out press releases on every culprit they nail. They catch many more than the public is aware of and sharing it with the public would attract customers that are scared to deal on ebay. <<… -
Re: Guess I had a drunk buyer!
From the USPS website: "USPS Package Intercept® lets you redirect a domestic shipment that hasn’t been delivered or released for delivery. It’s available for packages, letters, and flats with a tracking or extra services barcode." Also, to protect yourself from scammers who try to redirect a purchase by submitting a change… -
Re: I'm No Supersleuth, But I Don't Think The Seller Actually Has The Card ...
You're supersleuth enough. English is the seller's second language. If the seller is not a crook, he may be about to lose his card to a PayPal scammer with local-pickup. He is also likely subject to the 21-day hold at PP. .................. As the economy turns further to caca, sellers will be listing items that are…
