Re: Gold markets open $2260
Mining is traditionally a bad way to capitalize on the rising gold price. Goldminers actually worked for one/a few....he can tell you if like the energy companies the mining stocks have "gotten religion" or at least if the gold miners have (it appears the diversified miners like BHP, RIO, VALE, FCX are better positioned).… -

Re: On sale, Thursday June 6th - American Eagle 2024 one ounce gold and silver uncirculated coins
At these prices, it would be shocking if it wasn't the new low mintage. "Key" is a loaded term, because if gold stays around here, or goes even higher, and if the Mint maintains the premium, demand is likely to fall off a cliff. Prior issues in SP70 at less than $3200 are hardly a bargain, given how much they cost at… -
45 Coin Lot--Rainbow MS Lincolns... cherry red and lustrous
Here's the scoop--I have 45 1963 Lincolns with very similar, pretty toning. Some are clearly nicer than others (some are a little dirty...) They are all cherry red and lustrous. Also, I have seen similar coins in PCGS holders, although I cannot say 100% how they will be feeling if you choose to slab any. I'm asking $57… -
Re: Buying the best quality you can afford …

To elaborate, I'd also opine it would be best to stretch for the coins that really supercede the holder they're in...the coins that stop us in our tracks even if the label is covered up. These are the coins that are only held back by their grades, but they still tend to perform well over time. We often advise to "buy the… -
Monaco coins of the 1950's, the French Riviera, and writer David Dodge
Monaco is a small principality located on the French Riviera and has been independent for a long time. It mints it's own coins, and by agreement with France, uses French coin denominations and specifications. In the 1950's Monaco was in the news for a number of reasons. Coins of Monaco in the 1950's: Monaco 10 francs 1950… -

Re: What do you do when collecting turns into hoarding?
<<Find a a really nice special coin or 2, fall in love with them, then force yourself to buy them with the proceeds of the sale of extra hoarded dreck. It may take a month who knows, but during that time you will accomplish 3 things, #1 Youll reduce the hoard. #2 Youll end up with a nice coin or two. #3 youll grow your…
