Re: Do you want to make someone's day?
I gave a milk spotted 2006-W ASE I got back from PCGS to the daughter of the owner of a chinese take-out restaurant I frequent. She would always get excited when I paid for my order with Presidential dollars or Kennedys. Her dad wanted to buy it and I gave it to the little girl. It sure made her day. -
Re: PCGS, NGC Coin Grading Scam Alert (on CMI gold and silver site)
Ok, fresh from the conspiracy desk. Does the "milk spot" issue and the fact that no unc ASE's have graded 70 lately seem intentional as a way to prevent bullion coins from becoming high priced collectibles? Seems odd that the Commemoratives aren't stuck with this problem, yet the ASE's can't be cured. This is not… -

Re: How About Some Canadian and Provincial Coinage, Medals & Tokens?

Awesome coin 1960NYGiants! I guess I’ll have to pick one more up in the future and go for the turkey. I adore aviation on coins, I just wish the RCM came out with some more gold, I haven’t collected much modern silver out of fear for milk spots. Here’s another; I’ve logged about 1500hours on the DH8. -
Re: 2019 American Liberty (19DA, 19DB) On sale Now...
I received my silver today and the scratches do not appear to be a problem , but......it has very low detail on the hair and fresh from the mint milk spots. I would be interested to see if the coins with lesser issues with scratches have lower detail. maybe they polished out the problem at some point taking the detail with… -
Re: Red spots on Gold Buffalo PCGS slab
I’m confident Apmex will make good on it. As you pointed out it’s a 2009, so this very well could have been in a slab for years. Plenty of time for the “oxidation” process to occur. Just like milk spots on slabbed ASEs and Maples. Im sure they have plenty of them to replace it with. I usually avoid buying an item like this… -
Re: This is one ugly ASE submission - Not mine Thank God!!!
A stupid question. I've got a 2006 reverse proof that is milk spotted pretty bad I cant think of a lot of good uses for it. PCGS to the best of my knowledge still slabs 20th ani on the reverse proof even if its in an opened set. Wonder if I used it as a pocket piece maybe the milkspots will go away and I'll have a lowball… -
Re: HRH, PLEASE GIVE US OFFICIAL GUIDANCE ON REV PR PLAT SETS!
Hmmm, I thought I joined the "Collectors Club". I know there has not been a true Forum Poll for a long time (Not talking about the usual Poll users create, I'm talking about the one at the top left corner) How about a "Club Vote"??? BTW: Has there ever been a milk spotting problem on the Platinum that might affect this…
