Re: Best place to start collecting? Looking for some advice.
At a minimum purchase the 09 Whitman Redbook, a must have. Don't buy coins raw, buy slabbed coins, PCGS, NGC, ICG, ANACS. It's ultimatly up to you, on where to start. The SHQ program sucked me in, then I branched out to WLH's, Morgan's, Merc's, ASE's, modern commem's, cull bullion. Good luck, stay vigilant, stay informed,… -

Re: Ron Paul on the Federal Reserve and Government Deficit Spending

<< <i>You talking to me? I really don't want to get into this here. I'll do so one time. I am not a well versed guy in the financial markets. I don't understand the stock market, made money in the futures market by dumb luck. What I do know how to do though is build a successful business and I've done so the old fashioned… -
Re: Someone , please tell my wife that I'm not crazy for paying.....

<< <i>please tell my wife that I'm not crazy >> You did great! Just show her Coinflation.com << <i>Wow, even a noncollector should see a score in that one. Maybe even a "you suck". >> Well, the "you suck" is conditional on what the better coins are. At melt for the quarters and dimes, he did well but only about as well as… -
Re: autograph card overflooding
<< <i>I can't stand those little silver pieces of crap stuck on cards. They should do it right or don't do it at all. >> Well, actually I don't mind the "inserted" autos. Whether it's a piece of foil or cut paper, as long as it's embedded properly, I think it's fine. For deceased players, this is the only way to do it… -
Re: Frank Thomas, is he done?
DeutscherGeist, Here is all the infomation that I could find about him lately. I personally think he can still drive in 25-30 HR and 80 RBI's but takes to long to heat up and he is a base to base runner now. Also with the economy the way it is teams are not looking for a 41 year old over weight injury prone base to base… -
Re: May pickups...

This is major! Not really. Ohio Blue Tip match company - started late 1800s - shut down 1987. I paid 10 bucks for this Williams knockoff and it fits nicely in my Teddy tribute. My favorite is the 1953 SLU signed by mgr/HOFer Lou Boudreau - based on the specific lineup, I was able to pinpoint the game to Sep 2 at Detroit -… -

Re: T.O back at it again
<< <i> << <i>Too bad McNabb can't get the ball there. >> << <i> Shaun King looked better in post season action back in 1999, his rookie year, than has McNad did in all his championship game appearances! >> Oh my....you guys really are stuck in the past. Do you still wear Zubaz pants and mullets too? 1. The Bucs have missed… -
Re: Some old members of the CU just fade away but I have something on my mind
I think some of our platinum coins depict the eagle nicely in flight. I don't like the big head of the statue of liberty, or the SBA and IKE because of the "big heads" but the reverses are intriguing , by design. The same plaque affects presidential dollar's reverse & obverse because of "BIG HEADS", too. As to slavery ,…
