Re: In celebration of the end of a truly miserable Monday, post your most awful, wretched coins!

Steve, that Shield nickel is a nice one for a dug one, and it's better than my one-and-only dug example (an 1873). Shoot, it's better than many of the ones I just bought in a small lot. And regarding that half cent (and the 1794 you dug on the day I was s'posed to be with you)... YOU SUCK. But you already know how much you… -
Re: How do you avoid paying too much for a must have?
Here is some additional information: When I bought my 1927-S in 64. I paid over 65% above retail. I got into a bidding war. The strike was phenomenal and so were the surfaces and it looked better than most 65s that I’d seen and it was still priced less than a 65. I got it into my head that I HAD to have it. A Close Walker… -

For those who like 50-64 CAM/DCAM proofs, Cameonut has a treat for you.

I just finished looking at pics of Cameonut's 50-64 proof sets that he has been working on putting on the Registry. He gave me an advanced look and I expect that the pics will be available to the masses soon (if not already). For those who want to check out examples of CAM and DCAM coins of the 50-64 era, all I can say is… -
Great success with a raw card off Ebay!! Check it out!

Again, I suck with links, but if you check out Ebay item # 4134986944, you will see that I spent pennies for this card. The scan was beautiful, and the description stated "right out of the pack" condition. I got the card last week and was very impressed. I sent it in with a voucher I had for a 5 day service. I got the… -
Re: A look at the Semi Quincentennial silver Proof set
Glad you got them direct @BillJones ! 4 of 6 of my sets are keepers. 2 will be heading back for tidy $490 refund. In all these years I have never bought a proof set from the Mint. Have all the ones my Dad bought in 1975 - 1979 among other things. He really liked the 71S Unc Ikes. I have like a roll of blue packs. I liked… -
Re: GRADE THIS High Relief...Number 2!!

<< <i>I don't own this one, so I don't suck this time. >> It's only a matter of time till you do....so I was just getting in the "you suck" a little early. Honestly, you have a superb eye for these coins -- not telling you anything you don't know. Soon, I'll be moving into Saints -- but only for my type collection, and in…
