Re: Please be on the lookout - NBA 50 Greatest Litho signed by 35 - lost by promoter
that's sick to read. I hope it all works out for you. If they make you a reasonable cash settlement offer, I'd definitely consider taking it IMHO. Out of curiosity, didn't you have to agree in writing that they would only be responsible for your item up to a certain dollar threshold in order to participate in their send in… -

Re: Please be on the lookout - NBA 50 Greatest Litho signed by 35 - lost by promoter
Robb, your advice is quite sound and mirrored that of my father in law. I told them what I think in an email tonight. I said I've been after estimates for about a week and they range anywhere from $7500-12,000 and perhaps more (which is completely true). I told them that because of it being signed by a deceased player as… -

Re: Please be on the lookout - NBA 50 Greatest Litho signed by 35 - lost by promoter
Man, that is sickening. I feel terrible for you, Mike. If it was stolen by someone affiliated with Steiner, perhaps they can exert enough pressure to find out who it was. If it was truly stolen in transit, I would expect it to resurface for someone trying to make a quick buck--usually thieves like that don't realize how… -
Re: Please be on the lookout - NBA 50 Greatest Litho signed by 35 - lost by promoter
I just read this thread for the first time. Makes my stomach queezy. I cant imagine my anguish if I lost a piece like that. Mike, you deserve what every you ask for within reason...and I know you are a reasonable person. Just dont cut yourself short! Ask 40-50% more than you want because they will try to negotiate you… -
Re: Please be on the lookout - NBA 50 Greatest Litho signed by 35 - lost by promoter
As a fellow basketball collector, I feel for you. What they could do is buy one of the completed or close to completed ones that are usually for sale frequently in the auction houses and sell it to at wholesale cost (minus what they should pay you for yours being lost), so essentially you could get a completed one or near… -

Hey Mike, Sorry to hear about this, I sure hope they find it for you. How many different promoters have you used on the piece so far? It would be interesting to know the # of promoters that were involved prior to having Steiner (of all companies) lose the item. Good luck and wishing you the best to have it back home!
