   I was wondering about the American silver eagle series and how/why some dates seem to develop a haze over time. As I understand it, some dates are more apt to have it occur than others... In particular the 1996. Also, Is it the same thing as the milk spots showing up on the 20th anniversary pieces. Does it affect the grade…

   If it's actual haze, most of the time it's not an issue and can be dipped off, usually with MS70. However, if it's got the milk spots, there's nothing you can do for the coin. The part about some years of proofs hazing more than other could have something to do in how the mint washed the planchets... but a lot of it also…
