My present sub ATS was received on 1/11 it stayed in receive mode until Tuesday evening it went to scheduled for grading. Tonight it shows as in Quality Control. Mine usually stay in Receive mode for a while then quickly from Scheduled to Quality Control. The time in QC varies a lot from a couple of days to over a week… -

I've had that happen on rare occassions where it steps backwards. I don't think that it "actually" steps backwards, but rather, is someone not paying attention when they've entered information into the submission making sure that they mark the correct stage. I've been told that the QC stage is generally about 4 days.
