The 2000 Type 2 cents can be bought off eBay for about $10.00, plus or minus a buck or two. The 1998 Type 2 cents do not come up as often, but I think can be had for $15.00, plus or minus a buck or two. The 1999 Type 2 cents hardly ever come up. Perhaps some here will remember me. I have not visited here in a long time, but I used to be a very frequent poster. I am curious if someone could give me a brief rundown on the status of Type 2 Cents. 1998 and 2000 seem to be the easiest dates. I have not heard of any 2002 or 2003 cents being found with the type 2 reverse. -

That 1992-D that Rampage mentioned did sell for $1,000 on Ebay, I had it on my watch list. I've found several 1998's and 2000's but no 1999 Type 2 reverses yet. -

I think more 92D Close AMs will show up, eventually. My opinion is that it may turn out like the 95DDO when it was first discovered. People spent 2 to 3 hundred dollars for one and now they can be had for 25 bucks, raw. Not saying that will be the case with the 92D, just a feeling though. -

Thanks for the help. A few questions: 1. What speculation has there been about how the 1992-D could have been made? If I remember right, the error comes from dies that are made in Philadelphia and shipped to San Francisco that somehow got mixed up -- correct? Denver makes its own reverse dies -- right? How then could this… -

Yep, I admit I bought the 92d Close AM. Here's what I know about it. It is the 1993 reverse die that was shipped early to Denver and used by mistake. The error is only recently discovered by a cherrypicker on the left coast. After much research and conversations about the coin I had to have it! I know of only 4 discovered.… -
