The counterfeits appeared not long after the mag's release. In this case nothing to do with back issue value - at least when they first started to appear. They rolled them off the press and raked in the cover price. The pool on this like Baseball Beckett #1 is polluted. I don't blame PSA for not wanted to touch them, CGC… -

I bought this at 7-11 in West Los Angeles around 1990. They had a whole stack of them. I've never opened it up to find the sports section.
