In my experience axial lighting is sub-optimal for coinage that isn't brilliant proof. It is about the worst way, along with ring lighting, that I think you can shoot most coins. Essentially anything that is a business strike or a well-circulated proof or a matte proof is far more efficiently and accurately captured with… -
