Once you received a full refund, your claim of "rightful ownership" ended. The situation definitely sucks, and who knows if it was an honest mistake or there was monkey business and the seller got away with something, but that's between the seller and ebay. Law enforcement? What was the tone of the outside of Ebay emails (and how did he know how to contact you)? While it could just be a coincidence, something smells pretty bad on his end. Good luck.
