Re: Whoa! Speaking of PCGS and NGC going after coin doctors, check this out before it's poofed
<< <i>duffydaddy1 has a lot of absurdly ridiculously priced AT stuff AND ignores eBay rules regarding slab imaging. Is this guy a nut or just a scammer? >> Tex , my friend pharmer is not a scammer ........he just has a diffrent drummer that he beats it too . I tried to find the post where he claimed to be abducted by… -
Re: Nevermind
<< <i>Stealing a description wouldn't bother me nearly as much as stealing an image >> Actually, it is better when they steal your image (by linking to your original picture, not making their own copy of course) because then you can change the picture on your server to something else. I have seen it where the image is… -
Re: Is this a Scam??
I know this scammer has been reported before, but I'm not sure if this info has been: a whois search reveals that the top-sports-cards.com domain belongs to "Francis Gross" 1225 Simms Heights Rd Kingston Springs, TN A Google search for that address reveals another business (datcoinc.com) at that address. A whois search for… -
Re: Counterfeit OBW Rolls - see eBay link
<< <i>It's the Savannah Scammer!!!! >> I don't think so. The auction style is totally different, the language and descriptions are much more complete, and the photography in his other auctions is several orders of magnitude better. (Clear pictures with sharp close-ups of diagnostic features. The Savannah Scammer used poor… -
Re: Selling cards on ebay: A few questions
I got a stern e-mail about violating their "choice" policy, too. Sent a long e-mail pointing out the win-win nature of the auctions, etc. Other than a poorly written non-responsive response from some bottom-rung service rep, I never heard back. ebay does not have a policy about listing ungraded cards as reprints. Some… -
Re: Trade my way to a Jordan Rookie (Jerry Rice RC for trade)
When the original thread was posted for the Mantle, there were many impersonator threads including one for a Pete Rose rookie by a scammer. I wish you the best of luck in this task, but you may be better off just buying a nice PSA 8 than wasting time working on trades. In reality you could get a second job at Walmart and… -
Re: 52 mantle-tea stain or not?
<< <i>I have one of the 1983 reprint sets, and somebody took the mantle out to look at it and it somehow got a bent corner. I tried buying one of the reprints from that set and all I could find were the laser printed copies like that one. Just amazing that somebody would blow their feedback trying to sell crap like that.… -
Re: Buyer claims usps registered mail package was received open
Contact eBay non-stop until you get someone who will listen to you. Having proof it was sent via registered mail and info from the USPS that it arrived safely. Part of why registered mail is so good is it is virtually impossible to tamper with it and not be noticed by the USPS carrier. That is why you have to wrap the… -
Re: eBay Scam? V.52 Mantle
<< <i>Someone pair $2025 for that. I hope they get what they paid for, but I doubt they will. >> Scammers use the "herd mentality" with multiple shill accounts using fake bids hoping some sucker thinks it's all legit. I believe usually the high bid on these things is almost always the scammers shill account with no takers.… -
Re: I know, I know, I shouldn't pick on people, but I can't resist this one time (another 1952 Mantle au
I was over at VBC and read about this ebay scammer who just plead guilty. I then come to this thread and click on the mantle auction and lo and behold the just plead guilty scammer is hi bidder!! the sad thing about this is that ebay helped in the police investigation. the original indictment was last NOV. he just recently…
