Re: 46 months in prison!
<< <i>Is there restitution as part of the sentence? >> That was my first thought, along with the idea of which sort of prison is it? For all we know, he may be out in 18 months. New eBay ID, become a scammer as opposed to a rip off artist and he could do quite well ala the infamously wealthy "Savanna Scammer", AKA Pamela… -
Re: Thanks guys for the encouraging words.

My personal experience with scammers has formed my opinion of private feedback combined with lots of penny auctions. I can't imagine the amount of money those two options combined have cost ususpecting bidders from scammers. So I hope you can understand the "say what" attitude, and I'm a newbie here . Apologies, Trent. -
Re: Virus Warning...emails "UPS SHIPPING NOTIFICATION"
<< <i> << <i>It is not possible to get a virus opening an email. it is possible, and often likely, to get a virus opening a link or attachment from the scam email...and even possibly from a friendly email. When friends send me emails with links or attachments, I never automatically open them. Also...try not to even open… -
Re: Another Ebay thief
I think this nickel was "sold" a few days ago by another scammer. I rememeber the weird photo. My Hot mail is screwing up AGAIN this morning so I can not verify it. I have an old email from a guy who notified me of this scammer who changed their ID and then he found them selling this same nickel, I think. WS -
Re: A black list for Ebay??
I have correspondences and emails where the scammer even admits he is scamming ( and getting away with it). Some will rub it in your face. Pay pal and Ebay know exactly ( by repeated dealings) who those people are. They get banned, then just change their name; but never their MO. It's who they are. We are talking scammers,… -
Re: selling high dollar card question
Another quick tip to spot a potential scammer with low feedback - Check and see if the guy has "prolifically" been bidding on many auctions recently. Usually most scammers are greedy and "go for the kill" when say they've got a stolen credit card or something like that, or intend to scam and abscond and move to another… -
Re: PSA cards sold, not removed from set, anyone else have this problem?
It's much more likely that one of the cards is a Craigslist type of card. All a scammer needs is a real cert and he can make ten Yaz cards all with the same cert. The registry is a bad thing for scammers because there's a chance their buyer will try to register the card. If multiples pop up and PSA is able to examine both… -
Re: new seller Paypal requirements????
<< <i> << <i>Excellent idea. It'll slow down the slimeballs who only take take checks and money orders. Russ, NCNE >> Exactly. It will help weed out some of the fraud and hijacked accounts and make things a bit more difficult for the scammers. >> Unless the scammers are buyers who do a chargeback after they receive… -
Re: Member "wilskyy" (PLEASE READ)
<< <i>JP---i posted my response to the thread in that thread...the problem is..this guy is a scammer.....my deal was a "shipping error"..nothing to do with scamming anyone! >> I know you're not the scammer. I'm just saying a few of us have been targeted by one. I'm confident you're okay and that lessons are learned, which…
