Re: Ever buy a coin (or token) because you saw a kick butt example here? Thanks coinsarefun!
Thank you. It is about 33mm or 1 5/16 inches. Labeled as HK-451. The color in-hand is closer to the obverse pic. I picked up another Washington medal at FUN, but the pics are really bad. It's an 1899 Centenary of death medal by the Washington monument society. It has a Friendship Fire Dept fire engine on the reverse. I'm… -

Re: Farewell to the Queen of the Skies! Final 747 Delivery Medal
It seems to me that coin collectors also seem to love aviation for some reason-- I am no exception there. I have a passion for the 747, and I even learned to fly it years ago. I have been fortunate to travel on the flight deck of a 747 from LA to Sydney many years ago. I also have a memento from 747-451 Reg N667US in… -
Re: Why are Matte Proof Lincolns "Hot as a Pistol "
Realone, you are wrong brother. The 1909 mattes (VDB and non-VDB) run the gamuts from R-6.0 (451-500) to R-9.5 (10-12). Conditionally some of these coins are unique. These coins are rare. Go to any major coin show and look for MPLs. I've done it and they are not in abundance. I spoke with a local dealer frend of mine who… -

Re: Walter Breen
<< <i>Yes, he's was a child molestor pig who died in prison. He wrote an encyclopedia of coins which was very useful, but I burned it when I realized what he did and replaced the vacant spot in my library with a hard cover of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. His pedophelia negated his entire numismatic work and I could not… -

A partial list of earmarks in the 451-page bill includes a $2 million tax benefit for makers of wooden arrows for children; a $100 million tax break to benefit auto racetrack owners; $192 million in rebates on excise taxes for the Puerto Rican and Virgin Islands rum industry; $148 million in tax relief for U.S. wool fabric… -
Re: So Called Dollar Mini-Hoard
FWIW, I more agree with keets on the HK-121 than with NGC. I think that it was "generous" to call that a 61. I don't know that I'd be real happy calling that HK-24 a 63, either. USAROK (or keets), do you have a pic of the HK-452? I think I snagged one of those on eBay yesterday, and I'm surprised to see how many are listed…
