Re: Wow - I've finally figured out how to avoid bad sellers....
Or you could just make note of the problem and be super careful next time and identify likely scams if that is what is getting your goat. Returns are always possible even if you are tricked. I have sellers who have scammed me numerous times. What to do? You could go online for a review of their business if they show up in… -
Re: A question for the attorneys re: SGS, Fraud and the Ricco Statute
While the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Orginizations) act would seem to be the right charge to make against these racketeers, convicting them would be something else altogether. Even if the prosecution was lucky enough to have one coin savvy person in the jury pool, that prospective juror would be bounced by the… -
Re: What's the grade of this '51B Mantle?

My loupe tells me that two, possibly three corners are in 8 territory -- for 1951, which I don't think anyone would argue is graded with a different eye than 2001. Maybe the centering and print line are what knocked it down a notch, just based on overall eye appeal. But it's not a case of requesting no qualifers ... this… -
Re: The moon must be full over Europe today!
True enough. But in examples like the one I posted a link to, one has to be wary of eBay questions now, too. The phishers are getting very crafty. It's not a question of xenophobia or fear of foreigners so much as it is a fear of scammers in general. If a person with zero feedback, in other words, a total unknown, wanted… -

Re: Is this precious metals site legit?
<< <i> << <i>Yes thank you RawTeam1. Majority of items sold are shipped to us after you order. We have no control of suppliers therefore we need enough time to fill the order. we reserve the right to cancel orders and do not extend that right to our clients. I know it seems one sided but we have had issue with order… -
Re: 4SC and Pop Report
With all the scammers, wrong doers, resealers, forgeries, and all the other BS that we have to filter thru to be collectors, 4SC is not a problem. They are a solution as far as having very competitive prices, especially for set builders. Because they have chosen to handle this situation in a way that makes most sense to… -
Re: CAUTION- 52 Mantle on eBay
<< <i> << <i>Another guy that I didn't previously know contacted me when he realized it was a scan of my stolen card. He already sent the guy $10,000 for an off ebay deal and the seller didn't pull the card down Jeff >> When the seller so quickly accepted 10K on a card with probably twice that, how does that not trigger… -
Re: I'm about to sell a coin on eBay to a new member for $2650. If he pays via PayPal, can he scam me?
USPS protection against theft or loss no longer applies once it is signed for at the shipping address. If stolen or lost after that point it is not a USPS matter. This basic rule applies to any kind of shipment. Another method a scammer can use is to have an item forwarded. Since tracking will show that delivery was made… -
Re: Buyer from outside the USA with unconfirmed address

I quit reading the thread about halfway through, but while I'm sure there are plenty of legit collectors outside of the US and plenty of bad seeds within the US, I have my eBay account set up to where I'm not accepting any bids from outside the US. I don't sell enough on eBay and I'm just not willing to figure out how to…
