i'll bet he's running the auction under someone else's name, changed the e-mail and will try to collect the money. the buyers will have no recourse with the scammer, only the ebay seller. this scenario would be a little more believable if there was more at stake. i don't know if 20 counts of mail fraud is worth $100. -

I believe that any email from either eBay or PayPal that does not address you BY NAME can be considered a fake. I don't believe they ever send "Dear Ebay (or PayPal) customer (user)" emails. I sure would like to know what eBay and PayPal are doing to find and prosecute these scammers. -

Well someone out there figured out how to access his account (smart group) but I am afraid if I do and send myself a message saying that I (the scammer) received the card so I can get a refund that ebay would suspend me for entering a account that is not mine -

Agree. This is nonsense. Any rational person would think he's a scammer or a criminal. These videos don't prove anything other than people are wary of strangers. You come at me unsolicited on the street with talk about gold or silver, I'll get a good description of you and report you to the police. -

If a scammer wanted to make "homemade" Topps baseball or football packs from that era, opening cheap nonsports packs and taking the gum out would be a good way to get gum that would match the original pack. I like the birthday present idea. My 60th is coming up (hint). One theory not mentioned is that someone is trying to stick it to you. Your "item description" goes after all kinds of ebay scammer strategies, and maybe somebody doesn't like the cut of your jib. Hope that's not the case. -

I think the current prices have taken a lot of people out of the game. That and the tons of fake product floating around. I agree this "sealed box" craze could become a scammers dream come true. Big prices and it could possibly be easier to fake than resealing a rack or cello. -

I reported him to eBay and we will see ! I am tired of all of the scammers including those placing PSA in their GEM listing and have been reporting 100 % of them for the last week ! Same thing with the PSA 9 listings that "forget" to put in OC !!!!!!!!!!! I am mad as @ell ! -

The Chase...the pursuit of the "perfect" card to fill a void. The anticipation...waiting on an auction to close or waiting by the mailbox. I pay more attention to my want list compared to the cards that I own. Lotsa cool people around the hobby too. Beware of the scammers, they can deflate the passion pretty quickly.
