Re: 1913 Buffalo Nickel NEWP

<< <i>i likes it...alot sweet strike on the obverse...full divide going into hair tie along with the top-most single strand in the center looks like it's got great color too as with slight machine doubling a soak in acetone surely wouldn't hurt nothing here just to ensure those spots are neutralized to even a mild… -
Re: Nice Barter
<< <i>well since i am a newbie i gotta ask just what is an ASE if you traded 1oz silver coin for 22 boxes of 5.56 ammo?? you did great scott >> ASE is American Silver Eagle. It is a one ounce silver bullion coin with a face value of $1. One can buy them raw or slabbed, proof or business strike with occasional variations or… -
Re: Why is there no manufacturing year on the holder itself ?
I don't know if a UV light that can reveal PVC exists, but the answers to your other questions are "yes". You can avoid this by not using PVC flips and giving your coins an acetone soak before submitting. Or, you can pay for conservation before slabbing and they will do the contaminant removal. Also, PVC is not so… -
Re: Does the NFL need 2 different pass interference calls ?
<< <i>Blatant pass interference equals spot of foul. Mild pass interference equals 10 or 15 yard penalty and automatic first down. Didn't they do two different fouls with face mask ??? Five yards and fifteen yards, or was that college only ? >> The NFL used to have two different facemask penalties but got rid of the 5-yd… -

Re: GOLD AND SILVER WORLD NEWS, ECONOMIC PREDICTIONS
Here's an interest rate swap derivative that supports what Allegri and Higashiyama stated. The leverage in this example is 8:1. So for the $350 TRILL in OTC interest rate contracts it appears to come down to whether the contract buyer gets his interest rate payments from the originator. In this example it's $1.2 MILL based… -
The Pickle Jar
I received this in an email and thought it was worth of passing on to all here. Anytime you are up or down, just read this and reflect. The Pickle Jar The pickle jar as far back as I can remember sat on the floor beside the dresser in my parents' bedroom. When he got ready f or bed, Dad would empty his pockets and toss his… -
Some moderns available
I just spent the last two days going through my duplicates/spares stash seeing if I had anything that might be worth trading or selling. Went through about 600 coins and came up with only about 70 that I felt worthy. Some notes: I don't have photos, but I could provide a scan of any of them. Every coin is raw, but some of… -
Re: What happened to the 1958 cent thread?
]With that in mind, would those of you who have seen Stewart's example (including LMS himself) say that the coin is accurately graded as a 65RD? I would, without question. I saw it raw. To me it was your typical late 50's wheatcent in 65RD (aside from the amazing doubling), some obvious problems when you looked close but… -
Re: Proper use of E Z EST
To get haze off a proof, I would do a fast dip and then quickly rinse in clean cold water (maybe bottled water, to lessen the chance of some trace substance like sulfur causing any harm). Lay the coin on a paper towel to dry, and then turn it over, so that the moisture is absorbed from both sides. In my (limited)…
