A couple more additions...... Now a box of 20-ish Best Classic Commems"

Scroll down a bit to see the updates. As has been expressed in one or two recent threads, the future of Classic Silver US Commems is a bit of an unknown. When I got back into collecting 6 or 7 years ago these were never on my radar. I looked at them much as I did modern commems - certainly these had no place in my… -

Re: Sports in the 90s
First off, I've been a huge Nolan Ryan fan my whole life. Growing up in San Diego, I watched and listened to Angels games on TV (I think it was KTLA channel 5 back then), and radio. Other than Padres, Nolan and Steve Carlton were the only pitchers I liked and followed. I was stationed at Randolph AFB outside San Antonio TX… -
NBA Tim James Cards Could Get "Patriot Bump"

8-30-09 Tim James: Former NBA Player Now With Army In Iraq MIAMI — Tim James apologized for being late. A rough day at work, said the Miami Heat's 1999 first-round draft pick. Vehicles broke down, problems flared up, and he simply fell behind. "It happens," James said. "Even here." Even on the front line of the Iraq war. A… -
Re: My Ron Santo Master Set Registry
Dear Nathan, Thanks again for the kind words. Honestly, do not sell yourself short on perhaps trying to do battle for that 1961 Bazooka panel in PSA 9. They do not go for all that much, compared to how tough they actually are. Bazookas have been misunderstood, under-appreciated, and undervalued for so long. It is too bad… -
Re: 1831- The sixth in a series of Capped Bust Half Dollars- Show your busts
Beautiful pictures, Mozin. Everytime I see your photos, I regret being photographicly challenged. ...and because I only want to spend my extra money on coins, slot machines, a great date with a wonderful wife, and toys for the grandkids, I will content myself with my archaic scanner. **** The 1831 O-110 die marriage, both… -
Re: I don't know if I agree with the complaint that low end problem coins affect the prices for properly
I'm sort of with TDN and Wayne on this one. 99% of the people in the market are not sharp enough to distinguish that extra bit of quality for the grade (dividing each MS grade to 5 separate grades....ie low end-mistake, below average or low end, average, above average or PQ, good upgrade potential). Because of that, Joe… -

Re: Most overvalued cards in the hobby
I guess a solid definition of "overvalued" for the discussion is needed for clarity. If overvalued means a card that, say, "sells for far more than one would assume," or a card that one "thinks should sell for less than it does," then I still don't see how the 52T Mantle or Jordan 86F can be "overvalued." Citing the sheer…
