Re: What does "Set Break" mean in regards to a card.
As a set builder myself, when searching for the cards I need, I always use the key words "set break" in the description for the card I'm looking for. When used properly by sellers, when that item comes up, it lets me know to view their other items for sale within that set in order to get combined shipping discounts. Yes, a… -
Re: NHL Playoffs start tonight....
<< <i>You/they are omitting caphits like the $5.5M bonus cushion and LTIR that TB has that counts towards the cap. Capgeek has never been very accurate. >> Then what are the exact numbers that CapGeek is missing and for what players? BTW, I am not saying the Lightning are in fantastic shape cap-wise. I realize the task at… -
Re: The 2009 Red Sox Championship run thread
Of the remaining games, we play 28 games with solid teams...Detroit, White Sox, Tampa, Yankees. This doesn't include games with Toronto and the Angels. I would say this 4-game series is more than a turning point, could be the season. The Yankees go to Fenway in a couple of weeks and that could be the door slammer. The LOBs… -
Why coin dealers drink...Part CCCCXXV
And another one from the coin dealer network: "And this is one from someone that supposedly bought a nickel from us 4 years ago! Hi, I bought an 1879 shield nickel item # 350410608823 from you on 11-14 2010 paid $230.75 for it and after all this time (sorry) I finally got around to doing a thorough inspection of it and… -
Re: 53 years ago today ...
I remember the 1960 election and some of the debates. Nixon had an aftergrowth beard that made him look somewhat sinister on TV and Kennedy was young and vibrant. JFK was an actual war hero which is different than some of the war heroes that we've been force fed in recent years. Both Nixon and Kennedy were respectable… -
Re: EBAY bogus second chance coin offers...Lets fight back.
I played along a bit on this one. The initial announcement had the e-bay look and feel, but did not show in my e-bay massages. Also, I wasn't second on the coin... I was abbout eigth! I thought about playing a little further but just dropped it. Read about scambaiters on the Internet for ideas on stringing these people… -

Re: Business Proposition

<< <i>Except you are trading money for merchandise with a complete stranger >> Jason Good point. But I can control the money by bidding in such a way that I can 'reverse' the transaction. I reversed a transaction after the 30 day paypal window by both paypal and my credit card company. That's just what I was trying to do… -
Re: offtopic email concern.. maybe ontopic????
Sorry about that. A DDOS is a Distributed Denial of Service attack. Basically they get a couple of hundred thousand computer (via a virus) to attack a website and preventing anyone else to access it. Think of 100,000 people all calling the same phone number continuously for a month! Blacklists are lists of known spammers… -
Re: How do you contribute articles to Numispedia?
Roman, The quality of the numismatic articles on Wikipedia leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the titling of articles is just plain dumb.I had written an article on the coins of South Africa, then some idiot split it into 2 articles,& merged the information about the 1923-60 pre-decimal coinage in with the article 'Coins of…
