Re: Heritage: kings of spam

<< <i>and thereby confirmed that the address they were using was good. That confirmation brings a bonus when they sell the address! >> Yep!! Never click on the "unsubscribe", just endure it or use a spam deleter (for all they are worth). Also, if you sign up for a domain name, pay the extra to be sure your owner/contact… -
Why do so many sellers write "L@@K" or "LQQK" in their auction titles?
Do people actually think this is cute or trendy? Personally, I find this type of verbiage to be distasteful, and it just makes the seller look amateurish and unprofessional. Furthermore, I don't see why it's necessary for seller to "yell" at me to look at his or her item(s) -- it's completely unnecessary, if not just plain… -
A Cautionary Tale For Sellers Of Expensive Cards
This letter has appeared in numerous places. I have not seen it here. A few weeks ago, somebody on Craig's List got burned using PayPal on a local pickup; they have been posting this letter on CL - nationwide - nonstop. If you have already seen it, pass it by. /////////////////////////// email this posting to a friend los… -
Re: Is the "Toned Coin Society" still around as I would like to get involved if it is ?
Someone could relaunch the club, using a free hosting site such as Facebook, that takes care of hacking and spammers. Another idea is to have an ongoing thread on this forum (like the Barber mega thread or the UNO thread or the Gold economic news thread). That might enough to jump start it. Add in an online dropbox or a… -
Re: Bryant gumble/ Joe O discuss a fake wagner on real sports
If the south woulda won we woulda had it made. I'd probably run for president of the southern states. The day Elvis passed away would be our national holiday. If the south woulda won we woulda had it made. I'd make my surpreme court down in Texas and we wouldn't have no killers getting off free. If they were proven guilty… -
Re: Is this overdoing it a bit?

Originally posted by: TigersFan2 In looking at his other auctions, here's an odd one... An 1889-CC (raw) that he sold in a 1-day auction. ,b. I don't understand why anyone would choose to have a 1-day auction unless it's a fake coin and they want the auction completed before anyone notices and reports it. It seems common… -
Re: Bite this thread!
Slammer. RIIIGHT!...WRONG! I am referring to the experts "tell" and not the thumbnail analysis that I may be able to make. FYI, I know an awful lot about modern gold, but I couldn't name the 10 most desired Morgans. My question was straight and to the point. Whether I inherited, bought or destroyed an 1892-CC is not of… -
Re: Petition for a World & Ancient Coins Buy, Sell & Trade forum (this thread was from 2006!)

<< <i>Sadly, the offenders who would most benefit from reading this thread are the people least likely to do so... >> The only ones who need to learn anything from this thread are the mods with the power to make it happen The SSP abusers will learn in due course. And, since my language thus far has fairly abstracted the… -
Re: hh
Slammer: Sorry to have missed you (and everyone else) - was there late afternoon yesterday because of a golf tournament and back today around noon to buy a coin I needed to research. Great time! Nice pickups - can't go wrong with nice Morgans and toned material. :+1: The older I get, the more I appreciate just chatting… -
Re: What's with the John M Mercanti PCGS slabs?
Steve..this was NOT posted to be lectured at..we ALL know the labeling "system" in play is funky, at best. Here's my analogy: You buy a nice new Ford F150 Supercab Lariat XLT...Nice truck..2 years later, you want to trade it in for a newer model. The dealer, when giving you an appraisal, is $4,000 less than expected. When…
