Re: Ebay seller wants escrow.com - scam???
Regardless of whatever method the seller and buyer agree upon to effect this transaction, if I were the buyer, I would make certain to have the item shipped to a P.O. Box address so that the item could be opened in the presence of a U.S.P.S. clerk or Postmaster. We all know about the scammer ploy to send a package weighted… -
Re: I got my first Ebay neg.
First neg is always the toughest, but you will appreciate it later as you will become less of a target for scammers. Many scammers prey on sellers with perfect feedback because they view them as weak and willing to do anything to protect that precious 100% Truth is I don't think many buyers look at feedback at all. Why… -
Re: 2007 Silver eagle on ebay 9.00 per coin
I asked the seller how he is going to manage sending these priority mail for $1.00. His response was: "I am in the hospital and need the money. i will be sending these out proroty mail." Thus, I have concluded the answer is unreasonable. When one "needs the money", does one do everything in their power to lose money? How… -
Re: I hesitate to tip you off on this, but....
<< <i>It amazes me that no one has sued them - and shut them down. >> I agree. On balance they are worse than the Savannah Scammer--many more people bilked for a LOT more money. Silver Eagle sets are their specialty; they've had to have made a small fortune. The outrage about the Scammer is much more pronounced on the… -
Re: E-Bay Question Selling Counterfeit Coins
Seems like the honest guy gets burned, the scammer keeps selling. That's what I was hoping for, then I got caught 8 years ago, when Ebay was in its infancy. A lot of scammers get caught, the trick is to not to rip people off so much that you could go to jail for it. I'm done with trying to scam coin collectors-- there's… -
Re: Overkill on shipping gold coins?
This sounds more like a step to thwart scammer buyers who claim that they received an empty package. USPS Registered Mail is highly tracked / secured in the USPS system already. The added microchip and anti-theft measures are all add-ons that have nothing to do with the USPS, and most likely just words to try and add extra… -
Re: For Sale Here: Complete 1969 Topps baseball set with scans - *SET HAS BEEN SOLD*
Last complete set without any PSA graded cards and in similar condition sold for $1000. However, the "seller" is a perceived and well discussed but not yet proven scammer. If that eBay "seller" actually owned the set, he is a moron that left a lot of money on the table. If he was a scammer, which would probably be the… -

Re: TKO NOTICE: eBay Account Restricted!
<< <i>Never click on a link in an e-mail like this. If it was real they would ask you to log into your account to verify info. They would not ask you to use a link in the message body !!! >> I click on the links all the time, to gather information to write my anti-scammer scripts. Once I have that information, I write the… -
Re: guy selling 1907 pr69 $20 St. on ebay with no reserve. please help get his account shut down.
Yep, ebay scammer 101...sell some lower priced items, build some positive feedback, then come in for the kill with higher priced items, take the money and run. I don't know if the scammer realizes it or not, but I think PayPal will hold this money for at least 21 days before releasing it...again, I'm not sure about that.…
