Re: Post the coin(s) that "hooked" you

On 13th of August in 2006 I went to my first coin show. It was a rather small local venue inside a rec center in Paris, Ontario. While there, I met a great dealer from Niagara Falls, ON. John and I talked quite a bit about world coins and I ended-up buying a dark crusty 8 Reales from him. I was attracted by the crudeness… -
Re: Sh!t hits the fan, economy crashed, the dollar isn't worth what it is printed on...
<< <i>Gold ...enough to start a life somewhere else. >> calleocho nails it in the first reply, and many others agree, you buy your way to safety and a chance at prosperity. Standing your ground and trying to barter PMs for necessities in a TRUE SHTF scenario is a good way to get robbed and/or murdered. We assume by your… -

If they had need of a reorder the dies would have to be recut since all the manufacturers destroyed dies after use. This recutting… -

All she said about the coin doctoring is that "Cliff noticed that there is a criss-cross scratched on the front that somebody may have attempted to scrape off, since the area on the… -
Re: Don't look now but the Angels suck again..
I view it a little differently. I dont see that changing teams tarnishes a legacy. legacies like Jordans, Montana's, Willie May's, Wayne Gretzky's were already established. well established. all of it was already written in the record books. Jordan playing for washington, mays falling down in the outfield, Gretzky playing… -

Cuds
The first coin is an 1806/inv6 O.111"b" terminal die state with very rare double cuds, probably R.6 in this die state. The next coin is 1795 O.103a, the largest cud in the Flowing Hair half dollar series, an R.5 die marriage and possibly R.6 with the cud. There are 12 full rim cuds found on half dollars from 1794-1806,… -
