Re: E-Bay re-using pictures ?
Ask permission of course but you really should learn how to make a quality picture yourself. Another topic on here is about scammers using stolen scans. One quick way to identify one of these guys is that their scans are all different looking becuase they steal scans from different sellers. How does a bidder determine you… -
Re: What is the cleanest you have ever cracked a slab???
I've only cracked about 8 cards out ever. 3 PSA's and 5 SGC's. The PSA's came apart pretty easy but there was damage to the edges of the slab when doing so. One SGC came out super easy I hardly had to jimmy it at all with a butter knife. A scammer I'm sure would love to get their hands on it as there's no way in telling… -

Re: New eBay material has really fallen off
So here is my take on eBay at this moment -----IT SUCKS!!!!! I stopped selling over a year ago! There is no way you can say the number of buyers or the quality of coin listed was anywhere near what it was even 5 years ago. The number of scammers has doubled every other month and the number of misattributed- YouTube… -
Going to local card shows: Will I get scammed?
I'm not sure if many of you have read my other posts, but I collected cards starting in 1975 up until 1990 or so. Gave it up for beer, marriage, kids and bikes. Now, 20 years later, I've got the bug to complete two of my most favorite sets (see the wanted in my signature). This weekend, there is a local card show. I'm… -
Re: Oddest thing ever happened to me on an ebay purchase.
. i've received MANY discount offers, cards with phone/email/website etc (the VERY essence of please contact me outside ebay for future orders lol and i support it) from many different categories on ebay, especially numismatics but i bought from a LOT of different people over the years. if i am out somewhere and meet… -
Re: Of late, several newbies demonstrate a stubborn streak
Maybe I’m giving newbies the benefit of the doubt, but I think it’s harder than ever to determine what is real information and what is not. When I started collecting in the 90s, pre-social media, there wasn’t nearly as much disinformation out there. If you are brand new, how do you know which YouTube channels are legit?… -
Re: Vintage: What do you consider low, mid, high grade?
I would. I think it's directly related to the prices of the high end cards exploding. So, it makes it difficult, almost impossible for a guy with a normal salary to afford PSA 8-10 examples of some of those cards. So, he starts buying lower end ones driving those prices up. As those prices go up the scammers enter the… -
Re: How much concern is there about counterfeit gold coins?
Biggest problem with modern gold is the plated items coming out of China that can be easily bought online by US scammers. A knowledgeable eye and a sigma PM verifier or other non destructive testing provide pretty good protection. Ebay is good about covering a buyer who receives a counterfeit, but only if the buyer is… -
