Re: The PCGS 2020 Coin Quest Continues. Collect all 6 To Win.

One gold coin from every century since the beginning of coinage.

As a kid, I never imagined I would one day own a collection like this. Back then, history lived in books and museums, distant, untouchable, and abstract. The idea that I would someday be holding actual pieces of ancient civilizations in my own hands would have sounded ridiculous. This set represents years of learning,… -
Re: NGC VS PCGS
This is your fallacy. Looser is a relative term. You have to define the standard. Otherwise you're just announcing that the lower number This is where you fallacy is. PCGS and NGC and all of the numbers do NOT directly compare. Each company has their own standard. PCGS has their standard for what a MS65 is and so does NGC.… -
Another great person that taught me about coins was taken by the big C.

Hello to the forum. Well last night the nasty big C took my father and earlier this month the big C took my dog also. My father gave me my first Morgan Silver dollar in a birthday card when I was 12 years old over 30 years ago and that Christmas I got two crisp $100 bills 1966 Red seal that's when I started somewhat into… -
1/1 ? ugh
Let's start a club - our goal is to poke every single person who falsely advertises anything other than a 1/1 as a 1/1. I hate the excuses sellers use to "justify" their false advertising. "It's 5 of 99 and 5 is his jersey so it's a 1/1" "It's 1 of 99 so it's the first one made and a 1/1" "It's got a slightly different… -

Is silver falsely low or gold falsely high? Do you think supply demand has anything to do with the current prices, or has price manipulation in the… -
What 2011 will bring for British Coin collecting?
Coins are a Work of Art From www.petitioncrown.com Consider a coin of the finest quality a work of art. The dies for coinage were created by the country’s finest artist to show the monarch at his best, often to mark a specific event. A coin that has survived the centuries is like an ancient artifact and no less important,… -
Re: Have the TPGs out-lived their usefulness to the hobby?
“or there are millions more classic coins waiting to be holdered than was previously assumed. My guess is that it's a combination of the two, and to me it's pretty easy to believe the surviving pops of many coins have been underestimated, but that's just speculation on my part.” Great post Dheath, Here is something else to… -
