Just passed 50% on monster set (1992 Topps Gold Football)
Just got poppage on a bunch of cards and am now officially just past the 50% mark on this monster of a set - 759 individual cards. I have submitted all but about 15 or 16 cards over the past three years. I love this set because it has 33 HOFers in it and that number is growing every year. I am very happy with my progress… -
Re: Silk baseball cards?
Welcome to Board They are NOT from the T205 series, they are a completely different animal. there are dozens of cloth cards from the 1910s, Most show actresses or have generic baseball/sports images (college mascot), some have images of Major Leaguers. from that Era, the most desired and well know are these 6... 1912 S74… -
Re: What I like about our hobby...how about you?
I like what you just did. I like that my son was also keenly interested in collecting as a youth, and now that's he's a full grown adult with a wife and a full time job, he has 0 interest in the hobby right now. But, I still have his collection waiting for him when he's ready to jump back in. Sound familiar? I like that I… -
Re: I know what I paid, but what is it worth?
<< <i>I'm definitely not a banned member. I didn't like the way when I misunderstood a question and you chewed me out (Neither did the 3 people that shot me PM's about it), so you got on my bad side then, I'm sure before the "we do not grade" list you had never seen me say anything? Oh no, that would be ignorant wouldn't… -
Re: Post a Morgan.

Britain’s Morgan Motor Company, maker of extremely traditional and old-fashioned-looking sports “motor cars,” has shattered perceptions of the company with its launch at the Geneva Auto Show of the LifeCar: a fuel-cell-powered concept car that does 0-60mph in seven seconds, has an estimated range of 200 miles, weighs just… -
Re: Stolen coins in Minnesota
I agree with Rick; give him a chance to elaborate. OLDTIMER, if you are reading this, please answer the following questions: 1) do you have any photographs or scans of the items? I image coins that are valuable and archive them for this very reason. 2) do you have a list of the 33 commems that were stolen? 3) have you… -
Re: Will the lockout hurt vintage hockey this coming year?
I will miss hockey if they don't play this season. I think the key to expanding hockey's popularity is to get people to attend the games. Seeing hockey in person is better than any other sporting event, IMO. The action is non stop and the crowd really gets you into the game. That's something that you miss from TV. Plus on… -
Re: Mother of all Franklins....you won't believe the price!!

<< <i>All of you that find it "incomprehensible" that this coin is valued as such need to do your homework before your jaw drops or open your mouth. Lot 1661 at B & M's Baltimore ANA show July 30 through August 2nd was a FBL MS67 1948 Franklin. I saw it. It (I think) is the only Franklin I have ever looked at. Don't… -
Re: Civil War Token Pedigrees
Bob Williams was a long time token & coin dealer from Ferndale, Michigan who was in his 90's (IIRC) when he died within the past year. He worked in the auto industry for many years and also was a major dealer in small auto related collectibles. Bob was one of the first people I met when I ventured to my first IKO token… -
Re: Jeff Kent HOF chances?
First, to dispense with the obvious and painful argument, Kent was a whole lot better than Harold Baines, so if that's the new yardstick then he has to get in someday. Beyond that, he'd be a lower tier HOFer, but not in the obvious mistake class, and folks in that class get in mostly on good will with voters and/or they…
