Re: Man, is this suspicious or what?

What I'm talking about it the fact that he's been "selected" because he only has a feedback of 1. Don’t get me wrong it's a good thing that Ebay fraudsters are exposed through this forum, but just don’t drag someone’s rep and auction through the mud just because he doesn't sell 100 coins a day. That all :-) So you think he… -
Re: I thought that this Forum is not for selling, I guess I am wrong.

Realone seems to make some valid points. i don't pretend to understand the situation fully or even at all since i never saw the thread(s), but i have a pretty fair idea of how the sharks that come visit here work and how the vultures that operate. it's simp[le, really, both sides are motivated by greed. this place is an… -

Re: Any lawyers on the forum?
Some of the points mentioned here are valid. The buyer could have asked for more pictures before making the purchase. That being said , there are some incorrect points. (1) the seller will not be out of hundreds of dollars, he/she will receive a final value fee credit after the return is completed. Yes it is a pain in the… -
Re: Heritage auction archives price shock--does this ever happen to you?
<< <i>I also find the Heritage Archives an invaluable tool for researching prices. About a year ago I paid a pretty penny for a rarer 1795 bust half. The seller actually offered to cancel the sale and sold it to me at the price I suggested, and I saved his email offering a return privilege - just in case. He assured me the… -
Re: I got my 2 negs removed by eBay

They only removed them because they couldn't verify the ID of the users, not because of the retalitory actions of the scammer. In between they sent me this message after they said no they wouldn't do it and I asked for the email address of their supervisor. I'm still waiting for the Unpaid Item Dispute to go 7 days so I… -
Re: GAI grades trimmed cards????

Whenever an opportunity exists for someone to exploit something for personal gain, there are always people who will attempt to do it, and eventually, given enough chances, they will succeed, as is the case with the buy-trim-resubmit-sell for profit scammers mentioned in the other article. While these problems are expected… -
Re: Roberto Clemete card found in Japan
<<< Steve I was the first to post about the "happening" - as was revealed, there are two sides to every story. And, there are elitists everywhere we go. I'm just happy that they are at a premium here and rarely seen or heard from. If you want to talk prewar vintage - that's the place to go for the best and most detailed,… -
Re: Copper Melting...

In a nutshell, NO IT IS NOT ILLEGAL to melt, drill, elongate, cut or otherwise mutilate pennies or any other US coin. However it IS apparently illegal to destroy a US bank note! Also, other countries may have their own laws which prohibit destroying their coins. There should be a permanent FAQ about this somewhere, because… -
Re: Ths buyer is driving me crazy....

I had a similar problem. I sold a 79 OPC Gretzky RC about 3 years ago. It was authentic but in shabby shape that I listed as EX-MT. I'd say maybe a PSA 5 or 6 at best. Had a large scan of the card with the booger on his shoulder and you can clearly see the centering and edge problems. A guy in Canada purchased it for $125…
