Re: What's your best sports related "Dad" experience - cards and stuff

My Dad was a non-sporting guy as well. He did run track in high school and the track cards of the T218 set remind me of him. Also, the orange T230 Pan Handle Scrap cards. I saw pictures of him in his track days before the War and I still have a picture of him in my mind with that lanky build. To me, he looked like Pavlo… -

<< <i>Chip, Not to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon, but SFrank7381 edited his post on the "Know your neighbor" thread 8 minutes ago (12/6/04 at 6:55pm) or 8 minutes after his last post to this thread and removed all of his personal information. Wonder what it said. Quack. Bob >> Bob, Thanks for the info. About a half hour… -
Re: Congrats Cowboys - See You in November

A good enough sport to start this thread and the one about Julius Jones yesterday. I even stay at the visiting team's hotel when I go to Philly for games. It's nice to help project a positive image of the city and their fans. The response by opposing team players and their fans is usually about 50/50 when the wife and I… -
Re: Just added this little gem to my All Time Vikings Set! (Scan)
<< <i>That's a solid 10! Very underrated player, like the other former Vikings OL Mick Tinglehoff..I can't believe Tinglehoff got snubbed by the Senior committee again either. Hopefully the committee guys they send to Canton next year to make the choices will have better sense than the guys they sent this year who selected… -
Re: I know we have beat this to pulp , but something needs to be done about this jerk !!!!!!
Interesting turn of events! Let's see if he can get his money back... as far as which bed all these snakes lie in, and who knows/is/poses as who, it's all very unseemly... I think of it as if they are a bunch of cheap-suited, loud-mouthed, halitosis-plagued salesman trying to make lemons look like lemonade... I just stay… -
Re: ABX selling 163 million new shares tonight
<< <i>ABX down about 6%. If the US mint were to release 163 million ASEs would the price drop and how long would it take to sell them? >> 163 MILL ASE's would be around 45-50% of the total ever minted for all years. Since this is primarily a US market, it's premium should shrink drastically. This is not what we're really… -

Charlies Weis - commentary
Moments after last Saturday's brutal loss to Syracuse, Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis stood on the field for his postgame interview with NBC's Alex Flanagan. There's a lot of nasty stuff getting thrown at Weis, some of it simply because he's the Notre Dame coach and some of it perhaps because the Fighting Irish (6-5 after… -

<< <i>$1000 – A: The US Mint says modern facilities in Philadelphia and this city together have “produced as many as 28 billion coins in a single year.” Contestant #2: What is San Francisco? Re: I don't agree with this grade.
<< <i>How do you figure? Did they have mechanized counting machines in 1914 or even 1915 for that matter? >> I know this is getting progressively offtopic, but I think one can safely assume that a counting machine mark could have been added to a coin well after the date of issue.....just because a coin was minted in 1914,…
