Re: Everyone drinking Tiger Kool Aid Again?
<< <i>It's apparent that golf is the sacred cow of sports that many upper class men use to escape their suburban dreary lives and get with their friends and drink some beer - I have no problem with that whatsoever. But to classify any form of golf, even at the pro level, a sport is just not accurate to me. >> Ax I NEVER… -
1973 Wrestling Annual Cards, COMPLETE, 40 year mystery solved!?!
I picked some up and they seem to present pretty well in the PSA slab. I may end up getting myself a 36 card set after all. I think the potential in these are a bit limited, but since there is such a large gap from the Parkhurst sets from 1954 and 1955 to the 1982 Wrestling All Stars, these do fill a gap and are not way… -

Re: November's Pick-Ups.....Let's share....

Well boys, I debated a bit on whether or not this was even worth sharing, but in the end, decided there may be enough folks in my age range to appreciate the sentimentality of this acquisition...even if it is a bit wordy. I was born in 1971. I would say 79-83 were the first stage of my collecting interest. See, those were… -
Re: Things That Just Get Saved...a young Alan Iverson

The last thing I've got time to share is something my Dad gave me from his high school days. It was an instructional booklet from the "General Mills Sports Library". You could order your books from the "Wheaties Library of Sports" in Minneapolis, MN. You had to send in a Wheaties box top and 10 cents for "each set of two… -
Maple vs. Ash - What do you think MLB should do?
Baseball at breaking point over maple bats By Jeff Passan, Yahoo! Sports Someone’s going to die at a baseball stadium soon. Might be a player. Could be an umpire. Possibly even a fan. It almost was a coach. The scar on Don Long’s left cheek still puffs around the edges, fresh enough that it looks like a misplaced zipper… -

Shaking the hand of Perfection- Don Larsen

Don Larsen appearing at Mill Creek Sports today. I had him sign a nice full page color picture in my April 1957 issue of SPORT magazine. Great article about his perfect game by the way. He pitched the whole game out of the stretch and it was umpire Babe Pinelli's very last game behind the plate. Would have loved to been… -
Re: Did anyone ever notice...
That's exactly what I am trying to say here! You guys are stalking me. Russ constantly replies to my posts by calling me Eddie, and we all know that I can't stand that name. That's what they used to call me on the playground as they were beating the snot out of me. Russ is stalking me, Marty is walking around with milk…
