Mint state (MS) coins lack mirrored fields but show luster, that coruscating flash of light one sees when one rocks an uncirculated coin tilted towards a light source. A scammer could purchase a real coin in a legit slab and take pictures of it for his ebay listings copy it times 100 then ship the fakes to the buyer . If it was something like a MS63 morgan in a common date and they were priced right they may not attract a lot of scrutiny. -

I'm pretty sure it's a scam, I got the same email...I then went into my account (through my browser, not the link), and everything was fine with my account...not sure how the scammers get the info they do, but its the reason they are so successful at phishing. -

If not specifically Russ (sure he spends lots of time busting eBay scammers, but can he contribute all of his time?), eBay should hire people to constantly troll for rip offs. It would make their entire "community" much more reputable. -

I would think that hidding them is ok but should be done with a strip of paper and not a graphics program. The strip of paper could have the sellers ebay handle printed on it to prevent scammers from easily stealing the photo without having to photoshop the name out. -

Yeah well the seller might be a scammer but the responsibility also lies with the foolish bidders that think they are getting something for nothing. A Proof Morg for $300? Especially one with a mintage of exactly 0. These bidders are buying copies of coins that don't even exist. WAKE UP!!! -

I dunno. Since it has no image anyway, I would think that if he were a scammer, he would have gone for a grade a little higher than a PF-20! And do you think $4 shipping covers $5,000 worth of insurance? -

Here are 2 feedbacks by popeye1 letting bidders know seller is a fraud and yet others continue to bid 3 weeks later. scammer's feedback People are always looking for a bargain but as I tell many friends there are no bargains in coins, especially on bay! -

@ammonc06 I also recommend removing your email. We have scammers on here. Also, until you are made a full member by the modulators, you will not be able to send PMs (private messages) it could take a week or more. I note @Zerbe was last active on March 18
